Shame it's the 1.6, you're going to want to do the 1.8 swap eventually. But good job on snagging the LSD, makes a whole world of difference with the feel of the car. With such a short wheelbase, the open diff just doesn't feel near sporty enough to me.
His Miata is the R package, one of ~47 made in 1997.
Well actually we spoke to a couple of specialists who advised the 1.6 would be the better engine for track use (which is what it's going to be used for) as it's only a fraction slower than the 1.8 and it is a more free-revving engine than the 1.8 so better for forced induction mods which will be coming down the line.
Ah, didn't know you were planning on boosting it.
Yea first on the list is to lighten and strip it out, roll-cage, buckets etc and new suspention depending on what quality the Bilsteins are, then at some point it'll be turbo'd.
my friend and I have matching lawnmowers

why the fuck am i laughing so hard
they cut the grass real nice
tear around in friends with it, enjoy it.
Still not dirty.
My friend had one of them as her first car. She care for it, therefore reversed into (many) things as a form of measurement rather than bothering to actually park and manoeuvre.
where ae86 go
Edited:
also sagdsgdsgadhgf i need to take picture of engine bay on my ae86... its so clean and it looks brand new...
I'm certainly not. I wouldn't advise a first-time driver get one, but they're excellent little cars designed by a team that sets out to do just one thing: Build a car that provides pure driving bliss.
I want to buy one. Probably will once I have a steady jerb. The Ford is a wonderful thing to have, but it corners about as well as the Queen Mary, and I live out in the country with sooo many delicious apexes that are just begging to be clipped.
dats cute
Miata's are the shit.
I didn't think anyone was hating on Miatas?
I call them girly all the time, I don't mean anything by it. :P
They're pretty sweet little cars.
I find it strange that you think the Mustang is so ridicilously wide.
The Vauxhall Insignia is one of the most sold vehicles in the UK and it's 1,856 mm wide. The 4th gen (99-04) Mustang is 73.1 in (or 1,857 mm) wide. I think the owner is just overly cautious (or not very good at parking).
Reminds me of the 2 red Miatas from the movie Cars.
The Mustangs been the only car to cause a problem and its parked there several times.
Perhaps they were being overly cautious though (you'd think they'd be good at parking considering its an LHD car in a RHD country).
I don't recall there ever being an Insignia ever parked there, but I would remember an Insignia being parked there if it caused an obstruction.
It's probably either an inability to park properly or an overly cautious driver. The math puts it no wider than the average car in the UK.
Also, parallel parking when you're on the curb side of the vehicle is a bit wierd. I can park just fine if I'm on the street side, as is the norm, but if I try to park on the curb side I always end up three feet out in the street. If it's LHD I wouldn't be surprised if that's at play as well.
Installed yellow bulbs on my car today

sexy.
Why yellow? Is it really foggy over there all the time or something?
Because yellow is his favorite rice color!![]()
bronco bronco
Dat overbite
That's why you never raise the body, only the suspension...Ugh. Other than that it looks nice though.
Unfortunately, because I have to drive cross country, I must retire my camry (front suspension is shot and the back is well on it's way, plus it's driving way too hot for me to be comfortable driving through the Mojave desert). I'm picking up a 2007 Corolla tomorrow afternoon and my brother is inheriting my blue Japanese econobox. He was a good car to me, and he will be to my brother *salute / play taps* Pictures forthcoming when I get back from the dealer tomorrow.
Because I hate HID's to death. Xenon, LED and HID should go to fucking hell.
Plus, white rims and yellow headlights go well together imo. I think it's cool because it's a bit misplaced. I can see why people wouldn't like it.
Bug-eye Integras are awesome. No matter the country.
Yay for oregon, home of dirt, and the color green. I'm an oregonian too, and our cars are never clean. They get dirty so fast, we don't bother washing them.![]()
LEDs are great. They use next to no power and last forever. I want to retrofit LED marker and tail lights, though I will keep my sealed-beam headlights.
LED looks like pure crap. It's so ugly and doesn't belong on any car. The only car it looked good on was the R8, and now EVERY car company uses it. Ford, Audi, BMW, Hyundai and so on. It's a fucking ugly fad and people are gonna hate it eventually.
They're part of a much bigger fad called "Energy efficiency" .
Yeah, put it on your air powered horse wagons and fart powered trains then. Keep it off petrol cars. Car styling from 2010 and afterwards has just been going downhill.
Edit:
"Let's make a 700 (or so) horsepower Lamborghini with a huge gasguzzling V12. Let's also make some power efficient headlights. That's nice."
Edit2:
"Let's also make it ugly"
