Where did you even find them for sale? I've been looking around for weeks, and everywhere seems to be saying later this month.

$10 tubes, $2000 amps.
Yeah, there's a problem there.
nah all the work that actually goes into making an amp justifies the price
There's fenders for way more than they're worth.
Anything vintage is overpriced nowadays.
Edited:
*Anything from major companies
i picked up a vintage marshall for 400$
and i picked up a vintage fender for like 900$
you guys need to learn how to shop
elaborate on your process of picking those up
cause I prefer my method of clicking a couple buttons on musician's friend and having it arrive at my door a few days later
Edited:
that sounded kinda really defensive that's not how I meant it
I meant "I am superior to you in every way"
lol musician's friend.
you gotta dig deeper if you want cool gear.
i know a lot of musicians and they always either have some gear or know someone else who wants to sell gear and you always get a good deal if you go by a friend.
craigslist sometimes has good deals too.
well I managed to find a JTM 60 for £200 on gumtree
did I do a good? I think it's an old 90s tube head.
cool gear doesn't move unless you make an offer. check out local live music acts and if anyone has anything really cool offer $700 for it and hope for the best
the JTM60 is an awesome amp yes. it sounds nothing like a marshall though. it sounds and it's built a lot more like an old fender amp.
and it's a combo amp.
this is where i am getting them from, i assume you live in the UK?

They made JTM60 heads.

Nope, America. Guess I'm still stuck waiting D:
I'm trying to convince him to get a Tiny Terror for £175.
Edited:
now he's making me mad.
his argument is basically "I want a marshall crunch, classic sound, lol everything else is shit"
he doesn't even respect the MG series for what it is (cheaper, more affordable amps, but a full range of power choices)

damn $9 is fucking cheap for those i payed £12 for mine...
Yeah they don't ship until April 2nd
Still not available on the US market...and now delayed by a whole month and a half
The post is here, The post is here.
Letters come from far and near.
All year round they make me wanna cheer!
I'm set for the netherlands =)
What's better in your guys opinion, A big muff or metal zone? Because i want to use a distortion pedal through the clean channel on my amp, I get a better response that way.
I prefer the big muff but really those aren't comparable pedals
oh that's wicked. i wouldn't mind having one of those.
Edited:
uhm one's a fuzz pedal, you know that right?
they say fuzz but it's really just straight dirt
The Big Muff is a great old school OD/Dirt pedal, the Metal Zone is a horrible modern high gain pedal. What sound are you looking for? Because for old school stuff, Big Muff every time, for new stuff, you can do much better than the Metal Zone
Edited:
From what I've heard they have pretty serious reliability issues to do with heat distribution. A lot of them break down but the ones that don't will probably last longer than you, that seems to be the consensus. Probably explains why they only got made for like a year
I've never seen how.
I'm not going to pretend Bugera has any idea what they're doing, and I'm not going to go out of my way to buy something just to rip it apart and examine the circuit, but the fact that you can find a $800 clone of a $2000 amp is a fairly good indication that that $2000 amp isn't worth $2000.
lol you can buy a Minimoog for 2000, and that's infinitely more complex and better made.
Clones will use cheaper components, but that still doesn't account for the price increase.
Pricing is also used to increase the perception of quality.
Well, and, if we're using Bugera as an example, they skimp on the shit that has no impact on the unit, like the faceplate, wire management, and other mostly cosmetic stuff. Which means even the clones are holding out on us, hahaha.
oh that's easily fixed. my JTM30 stopped having heat issues once i changed the tubes completely.
Well the JTM60 has a different circuit from the original JTMs, the original JTMs are Point to Point I believe, the 60 is a PCB, and the PCB is attached to the heat sink for the tubes in a stroke of engineering genius

There is absolutely no way, even for a second, that I believe that Bugera are using the same parts as Mesas in their amps
...But they're supposed to be clones of Peavey from what I understood
They make Mesa clones too.
Oh, sure, I wasn't trying to imply they were.
My point is you can tell even Bugera crap is overpriced, because they're cutting corners on everything. Cosmetic stuff like that doesn't represent a large portion of an amplifier's cost, and you can find better-built heads in the same price range, so it's clear even making a clone they're trying to charge the absolute maximum possible for the absolute minimum production cost.
Edited:
Come to think of it, how much do you think a broken high end amplifier sells for? Might be fun to tear something pricey but ruined open just to get an idea of the parts used and see what they run for.
My mistake, I thought that's what you meant
Edited:
Initially, they also do Marshall and Mesa clones though
usually in the range of a few hundred bucks at most, they're generally pretty cheap. they tend to move fast though since most amps can be fixed fairly easily.
I was looking for a modern metal distortion pedal.
the big muff is better suited for noise rock than metal.
Someone told me i should check it out though so i was wondering your opinions.
second thought, i think he meant this one.
http://www.zzounds.com/item--ELHMMUFF
Metal Muff maybe, Big Muff no
i don't even know what a metal muff sounds like.
kinda sounds like a grating version of the big muff i guess
big muff can do some old school metal too
Edited:
the metal muff is shit don't bother
I stand by my opinion that the bass big muff pi is the best muff

I want to recommend that pedal for overdrive. It is excellent for the price (as always with GFS) and if you use both modes at once you can get a really nice distortion through the clean channel. It's pretty thick sounding.
I'm deciding now, cause i want both a chunky djent sound for my 8 string coming in, and a distortion similar to that of Austrian death machine too.
