they're good. it's an easy no-frills guitar that plays good and is built good. there's hardly any labor involved in making it because everything is CNC cut and there's next to nothing that needs to be soldered. the wood isn't terrible and everything fits together well enough.

it's one of those guitars I wouldn't be bothered about buying without playing first

I just put a + sign of tape in front of my speaker on the tolex. Am I falling victim to the placebo effect? Or does it actually reduce treble? Because I feel like it does.

    Edited:

On the goddamn grill cloth, not the tolex.

I don't have enough motivation to use the tone knob unless it's some intimate slow song. But I want to start using both tone knobs. I've got stuff dialed up on my amp to my favorite setting, so now I'll work on guitar shit. Which starts with redoing the electronics.

I always love the simplicity of those guitars, they are just meant to sit down and play. I got used to that configuration with my dad's B.C. Rich single pickup warlock. It has a volume and a tone and that was it but it just screamed.
In the kind of price range it's at, it's either one of these or a Squier Bullet Strat. I played a Bullet Strat and it actually wasn't bad. But the Kramer screams 80s styling, and I love the simplicity of it. Whenever I ever play guitar I play rhythm anyway, so I wouldn't really need a neck pickup.

Not sure if I have posted this here before but I found an old picture of my ibanez when I covered it in duct tape. And now I am kind of regretting taking all it off...

I covered it because I was upset about my paintjob being complete shit, I eventually had to take it off though. Also holy shit I was skinny... What the fuck happened.

Not necessarily humbuckers but I'm not fond of cream bass pickups. To me they just scream cheesy vintage.

Played and one of my guitarists has recorded with the combo version. Not bad at all. Reliable, good cleans, your classic Marshall crunch on the overdrive channel and some good high gain on the boost channel. It wasn't the best for recording but I think that might have something to do with the speaker in it. Not sure of make/model in it. Overall though, it's not a bad amp.

On a serious note I am a nut for anything unusual, and to me the cream dimarzio super distortion just screams out of the ordinary and 70's rock. My buddy down at guitar center had tech'd for many big names from the 70's to the 90's and he just has these cool stories about when the super distortion came out and everyone had to have one put in their guitar and it was the first time he saw everyone getting excited about hot rodding their guitars.

Everyone was putting super distortions in their guitars, people were even routing or chiseling away their strats and other single coil guitars to fit a super distortion. I love that. The thing I like and the reason I mixed the pickup colors on my Ibanez was because I love that pieced together look. I love the look of a brand new shiny guitar but what I really love is to have a guitar that is one of a kind. I like to tinker with my guitars until I find a look and sound that just appeals to me. EVH was the same way, always tinkering with guitars and amp to get his own look and sound.

Recently I've been playing Metallica and Megadeth, Iron Maiden etc. on my Precision which is almost pink. Looks come after sound.

Importance: 1: Sound 2: Feel (for guitars anyways) 3: Looks.

Intermediate beginner here. Trying to learn John Mayer's Who Did You Think I Was and I'm struggling with trying to deaden all unused strings which I'm not playing.
So far I've got everything down besides that basically (except for the solo which I'm improvising with my teacher).
    Tips anyone? :(

While I agree there I always find it important that I have a burning need to play my guitars when I look at them. My tele is just so beautiful that I want to pick it up and play it
