stock ICS keyboard and browser present?
I'll flash it on Sunday I guess. got some shit to do tomorrow..
you know, you can flash cm9, use titanium backup to backup the keyboard and then install Omega and restore that keyboard
ive done that with several other keyboard versions

hey, iCole:
https://market.android.com/details?i...e=related_apps ICS Browser
the browser is really good, based on the nexus version it seems (something for you Omega users with a pretty crap stock browser)
there seems to be some port of the ICS keyboard too, iCole
I don't know where you're at (not being creepy) but either way i have a ton from my basement, didn't know those motherboard boxes left over from the computers I've built had conductive foam.
I think it's time I take advantage of this phone's speed, so it's game hunting time.
The question is, what games to get?
Edited:
I already have plants vs zombies
Fucking love that game
Baseball Superstars 2 is addicting.
Asus Tf101 just downloaded the ICS update. Had a few apps crash but it seems to be smoothing out. Using chrome finally![]()
has anyone else noticed that if you get a message from facebook messenger or an email notification and you're listening to music (through a headset), while the notification sound plays through your speaker the music also plays through it. Kinda awkward in some situations...
nexus 4.0.3 btw
hey dudes my iphone contract finally expires today :)
anyway I'm sick to death of i-everything so I'm looking at android of course, and the nexus looks cool.
My only question is what's the best phone to get right now, and would it be better to wait a while because something better is coming soon?
Get a Galaxy Nexus or an SGS2, there is nothing much to wait for at this moment.
This or the Note which is basically a slightly faster, HUGE SGS2.
Thanks, what does the nexus have over the s2, aside from the really sexy screen?
I'm thinking that the S2 might be better because it's way cheaper over here and I'm assuming that same specs + smaller resolution will mean better performance (or at least longer battery life)
Oh and will the S2 eventually get the new android version? If it doesn't get official support, is it possible to hack it on?
Edited:
jesus that thing is huge!
The SGS2 actually has better specs too and the ICS update is already in development and Samsung is regularly "leaking" their progress. Nearly everything is working already.
That's what she said![]()
SGS2 has a huge community, there are many custom ROMs for it, and Samsung is going to make ICS for it for sure.
The Nexus is a "developer" phone, Google makes the ROMs for it.
This means as soon as a new version comes out of Android, you can update your Nexus to that version. Basically, they're developing for this phone.
I wish I was able to root my HTC desire Z
I want a smooth, sexy rom, but I can't do it.
My thread isn't getting answers so I'll just ask here. Should I get the Galaxy S2 over the iPhone 4S? No biased opinions please. Why is one better than the other?
do you want gimmicky voice control or a good all round phone?
EDIT: nevermind just get the Galaxy S2, root in and put CM9 on it.
What is it you want your phone to be able to do?
Haha. The app store is a pretty big factor to me. But if you guys say the S2 is better then I'm all for it.
As big an Android fan as I am I rarely find myself recommending them to people. There's a very specific kind of person to whom Android is amazing, to everyone else, it's either the cheap alternative to an iPhone or a 'mistake'. Don't get me wrong, Android is fantastic and on purely technical terms it's 'better' than iOS. However, at the end of the day, it is a bit of a hobbyist OS. If you're not interested in custom ROMs, rooting, modding and tweaking then Android is arguably not for you. When you pick up an apple product, you know exactly what it can and can't do within 10 minutes of picking it up. You practically never use the settings menu. For the average consumer, this is fantastic and the way a mobile phone should be. For the average Android user, this is boring a tedious.
If you've got a friend with a high end Android phone, ask them if you can play with it for like 30 minutes and see how you feel.
do research and pick your own, asking in a thread full of android 'fanboys' won't help you much
Form or function really.
Better rephrase that to make sense.
Form over function or function over form.
iOS is sleeker, smoother and the apps tend to be polished a lot better.
Android not so much but has more things you can do with it being open source and all.
ICS keyboards on the market are from older ICS versions I think, and I heard that 4.0.3 (and 4.0.4 but that isn't globally out yet) have many keyboard improvements.
I'll just flash CM9, play with it, pull out everything through titanium, then flash omega and mod it a bit to my liking. Sunday's gonna be fun
inb4 I manage to get my phone stuck in a bootloop and freak out again.
Okay, thanks. I have a Samsung Captivate and it's so shitty. I am a big fan of Android too but I also like iOS. Also, where could I learn to do this "modding and tweaking"? What exactly are custom roms? sorry for all the questions
Thats not even true, I like the look and feel of android a lot more than iOS, and the android market these days has nearly every app iTunes has.
Get a galaxy nexus.
(i have both the SGSII and the Nexus.)
if you decided on an Android phone, get the Note
my biology teacher was talking about it, said its big screen would be perfect for him, since he uses his phone for work (school) stuff
Custom roms are different versions of Android (since android is open source).
Edited:
The android market has nearly all apps iTunes has, and also a lot that iOS doesn't have, since it doesn't cost any money to develop for android.
you can do it mate
Can I blame you if I fuck up?![]()
i you do fuck up, you know what video i will post!
I'm probably getting the SGS2 soon. Anyone know of good, not too expensive, cases?
