Stock ICS has lockscreen music controls when playing music, and music controls in the notification tray, but I don't think that's possible in Gingerbread

Jeez guys, leave Gary alone, you told him to shut up, and he did.
Posting from my new galaxy note. I am in love <3
Expecting a stable CM9 within 2 weeks.

You can flash via ODIN now if you can't wait.
http://
how's my browser supposed to decypher that?
And wow, I didn't expect them to release it this month O_o
only because he's banned
are you using ICS? because I have music controls on my lockscreen
Oh god oh god oh god
I'm happy I just now happened to open this thread after a while of not checking at all
Did they release kernel source? If not, CM9 isn't coming that soon.
Word on the street is that it'll be released in 1/2 weeks.
Back in December, there was word on the street that the ICS update would be rolling out by the start of January![]()
after the update i've got a slightly different lockscreen, with "swipe to unlock" and the padlock icon being displayed in a circle upon touch (the image had to be swiped away from the screen before)
but
so I don't know really :(
(this is the international model, I didn't buy it from a carrier)
WTF?Maybe it.. flashed itself weirdly? How the hell does that happen?
Try installing Chrome for Android Beta from the Play Store. Works only on ICS.. if it doesn't install you have a Gingerbread with ice cream sandwich flavor mutant.
Edited:
From the reactions on XDA, it seems the official release is more bugged than some of the older ICS leaks.
Way to go Samsung. Again...
I cannot adjust to Market changed to Play Store.
I always look for the Market in my app drawer then I panic when I can't find it.
I can't see why they even did it, it's exactly the same
Apple has a patent on every other name.
I was wondering too that was there really anything added to it.
I noticed the galaxy note at the stores here has a ring lock of ICS, but its running gingerbread?
Yep, the Note already had the effect.
So the ring lock comes with the Note? Or touchwiz?
Ring is a part of TouchWiz, but was first introduced on the Note (running Gingerbead). Stock ICS has a different (more useful) ring.
Branding and growth for things beyond Android.
So my bro bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V. The interface is kind of confusing, but the phone is much more faster and responsive than I expected it to be.
well shit, ICS is out for the S2 I guess
let's wait for 1243 different roms with eye-melting skins
Friend's asking about a phone with good reception for him to get.
He told me Iphone has great reception.
if it's not the iPhone 4 then maybe![]()
if u don make bettar den y comment shithed
Blame the FP app.
The pain of waiting for the battery on my SGS2 to be fully charged before Kies allows me to install ICS on it is unbearable...
I updated my S2 and it's been stuck on the boot screen for at least least 15 minutes now
what the fuck mang
Sounds like a bootloop to me. Reflash?
How can I tell if a Nexus S is the LCD or the AMOLED version?
Settings - About Phone
there, check the Model number:
GT-I9020 - Super AMOLED
GT-I9023 - Super Clear LCD
edit:
SPH-D720 - Super AMOLED, 4G version intended for US market.
The only ones I can find are i9023s.
How much difference is there between the 2 screens?
i9023 ended up to be much more common in the end.
AMOLED has more contrast/saturation (way more "believable" black color, too. But SLCD has better white color), but for some people it might be too much.
SLCD doesn't suffer from image burn-in.
Some SLCD models had dead pixels, too.
Here's a photo of the difference in a dark room:
edit:
Another picture.
Another one.
Welp, bought an SLCD one for $250.
Bye, Blade. You were a good friend, but I have to move on.
Demonkahh will be sad. But congrats!
Is an android tablet with a keyboard (bluetooth or dock) a suitable replacement for a laptop for college? I've got a desktop that will take care of anything I need to do with a PC, and my laptop recently crapped out. I'd just need something to take notes during class and do some work with Google Docs/Microsoft Office.
So what must have stuff should I get for my Galaxy S2? I got some emulators. Is DosBox and ScummVM good on it? Easy to set up with games etc?
get the ICS update, since it's out now![]()
