Somebody was asking for tutorials a while back, pages and pages ago asking for some colouring tutorial for those amazing pictures. I'd just like to bring it back up because I'm stumped over this situation too. Can anyone help us? I'd appreciate the help, thanks.

Why not go into the tablet settings and invert the pressure curve?

I know it's possible(with loads of crazy commands) in xsetwacom, I'm almost certain there's a much more intuitive windows equivalent.

The comp makes me feel like somethings about to race down the road, possibly shaking the "camera" a little, know what I mean?

    Awesome

Hey guys, long time since I have done any work in this section so I decided to get warmed up by doing a league of legends piece (I am currently addicted to the game, may or may not have contributed to my lack of doing art recently).

The piece is still in the works but I know you all have interest in each other's workflow, so here is the base sketch and then my color template set up:

    Basic sketch, canvas is 2500X3500.

Afterwards I begin to lay out the colors and how they will affect the piece. A lot of people need to use templates of some sort, and I highly advise you do it, I just find myself more impulsive in my art so I simply began throwing colors down until I am satisfied with the look and feel.

After this I move in fleshing out the shapes and details, much like someone with clay will begin to shave off the remaining excess from the general shape they made. Then it will be onto rendering.

Are there any significant benefits compared to CS5? except the different layout?
    Might do so.

cs5 works fine, no need to change it, there are some changes of course, the best might be that if ps crashes, it auto recovers your work. And the dark interface is seriously sexy.

Take a look at David Downtons work.. Few bare outlines.. Hours to days of work.. Fantastic and elegant results.

Someone made me draw Juggernaut from doter. My flow died so I just turned his hand into a laser sword.

I'd love if someone pointed out something from this piece. (of something else than the hands)

I just realized that the shoulder strap goes over his leg. It is incredible how much mistakes you see as you post your piece somewhere.

Too flat, add some shading (and use other colors, don't just increase/decrease the brightness like you've already done).

The dark interface in general looks good but I find it more uncomfortable to read. The same goes for another piece of software I use that switched to a dark interface.

In fact it seems like I remember something proving dark text on a light background is much easier to read than light text on a dark background.

I've always found it easier on the eyes to work with a dark interface. I know where my buttons and such are, so (to me) it's not a matter of reading anything so much as having a less intrusively bright interface. I've always swapped 3DS max to its dark interface for the same reason, I find it easier to focus on my subject for some reason.

    Uh...

    WHAT?!

If you document is 300DPI then the text will look smaller at the same size than if it's 72DPI.

Heyo. I'm doing a pic for a friend and I'm almost done with the one character, but I just realized I forgot to put in the second character.

I know composition should be sorted out from the beginning, but it's a little late for that now.

So what should I do? Should I put the other character

    OR

Or do you guys have a suggestion for another location? Thanks.

I find it really grating on the eyes to use a dark interface. Neutral gray forever and always, it also seeps into your design less as it doesn't really frame your work with a dark surrounding.

So much black. It makes the picture look dirty.

You should use a channel-based selection thingy

I would explain it properly but it's been centuries since I did it. I think you duplicate the blue channel, switch off the rest and adjust the levels for a crisp silhouetted edge, then select it and use that selection on your original layer with some feathering. Yeah that sounds about right
