It really looks like the 'life' is written backwards. I tried it out on my own hands and it seems like 'life' would go on the other hand as well because right now it says 'efil thug'. Unless it's meant to be like that. I don't know.Lost a good chunk of work due to a power cut earlier, and I wanted to keep it to one sitting so that is why it's not a painting and the sketch is all you're getting

5,153 PostsThose proportion lines won't do you any good. I recommend starting with the skull, because it's very very difficult to get anywhere when you're trying to "place" features on a flat oval base. If you want to draw people without reference, basic understanding of the skull structure is paramount
just before i go any further, how's this going?

Finn looks brilliant, but jake? he looks a little off, either his face is too big or he is too skinny. or the camera angle may be misleading me.

Not quite sure what to think about this. Not too bad compared that I haven't drawn with a tablet in weeks I guess.

5,153 PostsYou could say that about tracing other drawings or filter-raping photographs or whatever else, but really it's just a platitude with no grounding in context. If you do something using somebody else's work as your base (or sole element), which does nothing to help you progress artistically and yields no apparent result, then it's safe to say you're wasting your time in that regard. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's certainly how it appears, hence "looks like".

If I enjoy doing something no time is wasted. Nobody mentioned about the artistic value of the product depending on the technique I used.

making icons isnt a waste of time its just that merging a couple existing images for a game thumbnail isnt ultra creative or the kind of thing for this thread

the coat and torso is good, but i just don't feel the scale of the llama head is at all right
it just looks like it's been popped on there with little consideration
i think the neck should be either a little longer or a lot shorter, it just seems very off where it is atm
