It's a program that calculates and finds prime numbers. It's a distributed computing program, but mostly a bench program because of how demanding it ends up being.
If your PC is sparking, you've got bigger issues than a cardboard case. Also, have you ever tried to ignite cardboard with a lighter ignition switch? Doesn't work.
Oh look, a
I'm an idiot for not taking my camera out of the bag before bringing it into the bathroom to get rid of the tick but whatever. I don't fuck around with ticks.
The camera is in a sealed container with a bunch of rice in it, so it will hopefully be working by tomorrow. If not, oh well. It's not a very nice camera and it's about 6 years old.
I gave it away for 15 euros or more and have bought a 530W PSU from Be-Quiet (Pure Power). This thing can run a god damn Phenom II X6 1100T, an overclocked GeForce GTX550Ti DirectCU from Asus on full load.
What can i do with some help from my part-time job is just beautiful.
Wow it's been a while since I've posted in here, some pictures of my A05:
Too lazy to do proper cable management. Also the case is bit too small. :/
Doesn't look too bad really, route the CPU power and all the smaller wires (water pump power wire) behind the motherboard itself, will look better, with stand-offs they'll definitely fit.
1. RAM Blew up
2. Don't own a camera
DDR SDRAM (you know, your common DDR2, DDR3 etc.) is a type of DRAM
There you go, double 'TIL'!
I blew a few stacks at Micro Center today. I decided not to wait for Ivy Bridge because the expected performance difference isn't supposed to be that much, so it probably isn't worth the price difference. My motherboard is supposed to be compatible with Ivy Bridge if I do end up wanting to upgrade (which I won't).
AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition (unlocked all 4 cores) 3.1Ghz
Xigmatek HDT-S1283 (heatsink)
4GB G.Skill DDR2 800
EVGA GTX 460 1GB
60GB ADATA S599 (Micro Center rebranded)
1TB Seagate 7200.12
600W OCZ ModXStream Pro
Replaced CPU, Motherboard, and RAM with:
Intel Core i5 2500k 3.3Ghz (soon to be overclocked)
Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 (rev. 1.3)
8GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3-1333
Looks a lot better than the rainbow motherboard I had in there before.
Are you the same guy who posted before with a case like that?
It looks beautiful. I'd get the inside powercoated grey maybe.
