WELL since you guys think this should be the chat thread: So DISNEY animation is doing this movie, wreck-it ralph. About a bad guy video game character who wants to be a good guy or something. I had heard it involves different 'game worlds', but some guy went to a disney convention, took some pictures from some magazine there that showed off some scenes being worked on
lol so apparently it's gonna be stuffed with cameos.
it's hard to picture that
partially because what you're saying doesn't make much sense, and partially because these pictures are just really weird

Basically Disney is doing a movie about a video game character and apparently it's going to be stuffed with cameos.
uh no sorry but you're wrong
Edited:
are you completely oblivious to what sociopathy is?
Edited:
why did they get dreamworks pictures from a disney convention?
Oh it's actually not a dreamworks movie, where the hell did i get that from. Disney movie, then.
So basically a video game Roger Rabbit?
Alien Resurrection
6/10
not as bad as everyone says but the worst alien movie by far
Yeah that's the exact comparison everyone keeps making now
the only redeeming quality of that movie was olivia wilde.
the fog 7/10
it was really carpenter-esque and was basically alan wake the movie if you got stephen king to jizz all over it. i only say it was alan wake the movie because i've played, and enjoyed very much so, alan wake before seeing this movie.
the reason for the not great score is the over all cheese factor, especially with the saturation of the tones in certain scenes. it's like holy fuck add some extreme flat light, dry ice and put a heavy crimson filter over it and voila! in some parts.
i guess it's just i love the thing and this movie is totally lame in comparison. seeing as how it's both john carpenter i'd assume it to be that good. but alas, was not my cup of tea
also eddie izzard is right. california's coast has fog that moves that fast if not much faster.. there's this range of tall hills (like almost mountains but not quite) that surrounds my area. you can see the fog roll over them into the valley, it literally looks like the place is sinking sometimes and it's water coming over the hills.
i didn't much care for the fog as much as i love carpenter
the one really redeeming part about it was the setting.
i've been to shitloads of little villages like that in the northwest part of the state. i absolutely love temperate/taiga environments.
Chronicle
6/10.
Not as good as first thought. Start is okay, but middle to end is shit. Seen similar before.
Talhotblond - severe uncomfort/10
seriously, if you thought catfish was hard to watch, phwoar
takes it up a notch
The Dark Knight Rises: 9.5/10
Great movie- I especially appreciated Tom Hardy's performance as Bane, and the part where he kills Batman had some superb cinematography. The beginning was a little slow, though
Thanks for spoiling it.
What about catwoman
la haine - 9.5/10
très bonne
The Bane-Catwoman rape scene was intense, but also was the highlight of Bane's role as Batman throughout the entire series- the way he looked at her as she was dying was one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever seen in cinema.
You are wrong good sir. I don't care what the kid's mental situation is, toddlers do not have the capacity to behave like super villains.
So I only just got around to watching Drive.
I really enjoyed this film. I saw that a lot of you had said that the hype would probably lead to disappointment, but I still found it to be great. I'll bet I'm not the first to say I found it very similar to Taxi Driver, except the Driver chooses to be more reserved whereas Travis feels isolated by society. Gosling was good, and it's nice to see that Bryan Cranston is getting more movie work.
I'd probably give it a 9/10, though I can't really put my finger on anything that could be improved to make it a 10 at the moment.
taxi driver was a smooth, relaxing movie. Until it all went crazy.
Same with Drive.
Drive was so great I can't wait for their next collaboration: only god forgives. 2012 is gonna kick so much ass.
woaoh so soon?
Eh, thai boxing movie. Not really into those films. Maybe I'll be surprised though.
Oorlogswinter (Winter in Wartime) - 9/10
It was pretty well done.
If it was anyone else making the movie (with a few exceptions) I wouldn't care either. But I like Refn so I'm really looking forward to this, regardless of what it's about.
Ghost Rider 2 was pretty ok.
It wasn't a critic movie, then again most of the shit directed by the duo who made it is known for pissing critics off.
It's not that great of a movie, but it's not that bad. Doesn't really deserve a 17% on rotten tomatoes. I'd say it's like a 5/10.
sorry but I disagree
unlike Real Steel, it wasn't enjoyable
the humor sucked, the action scenes had EXTREME close-ups on EVERYTHING, and Nic Cage was horrible
Ghost Rider: 3/10
Not seeing the second one.
body of lies : 7.5/10
Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace- 7/10
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones- 6.5/10
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith- 8/10
Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope- 10/10
Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back- 10/10
Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi- 8.5/10
Mine would be
EP 1: 5/10
EP 2: 6/10
EP 3: 7.5/10
EP 4: 9/10
EP 5: 10/10
EP 6: 8.5/10
tbh I thought VI was going to be better than the empire strikes back
not sure if I should be disappointed with VI or surprised with V
I'd say "disappointed in VI". I loved Empire Strikes Back and WAS loving Return of the Jedi until they landed on Endor.
It just seemed to slow down a lot from there. The ending 30 minutes or so was great and the beginning was also great. The middle drags a bit, though. The Ewoks were a bit too cutesy for a movie that followed one of the darkest sequels ever made.
That's not to say I don't like it, though. I just think it's the worst of the original trilogy. I love all the Star Wars movies on a personal level because I grew up with them.
that tinker spy movie isn't great. I'm more than half way in and all I keep wondering is who the mole is and what might the mole be doing.
but at minute 50, someone has a mole on their face. bloody mole.
Edited:
great cast, reduced by worthless dialogue.
The Mist
Acting: 6/10
Effects: 7/10
Plot: 8/10
Atmosphere: 5/10
A fairly interesting creature thriller, that plopped due to uninteresting dialogue and iffy effects at key moments.
am I the only one that noticed how the plot is A LOT like the Half life plot?
Edited:
wait nvm Im dumb, it was from a book that actually inspired Half life
he didn't behave like a super villain he behaved like a sociopath
late but wreck it ralph will have john c riley C:
i fixed your reviews for you!!
