I'm watching the Life Aquatic again. Fuck this movie is quotable.
Who doesn't like Wes Anderson? Seriously.

Wes anderson movies are good when they're not being gimmicky and insincere
The only movie he's really phoned it in on was Darjeeling. Royal Tenenbaums was weird but I've always loved this movie.
THOR (2011)
I'd give it from 6.5-7.3. Everything was fine until the part "Destroyer comes to Earth". The sceneplay seems odd after that part.
The Life Aquatic. 7.5/10
Wes Anderson has perfected the art of absurdity, and it shows a bit too well. Honestly I preferred the Royal Tenenbaums because it had more consistency. This one basically has Acts, which annoy me regardless of movie.
It's still good though.
I really liked Royal Tenanbaums, superb movie.
I actually didn't find it too good. All of the characters felt really inhuman - they were all
super naive and indifferent to the world. Plus, the whole camera work felt a bit unsure and not
necessarily contributing to the movie. In Submarine for example, there is the same style of camera
work, but it feels there that it actually does connect to the story.
That's the beauty of it imo, but I can't argue with your opinion.
A Serbian Film (uncut).
No-one may ever watch this. (Or just do because it sure is worse than human centipede.)
I am never going to get a boner again. :(
On the other side I think the movie itself wasn't thát bad, it had a rather good build up, and the acting was ok but... yeah... no.
serbian film you mean?
yeah, there's no way I want to see that again. Still for what it is... it does the job in doing what it does... :/
The ending to that movie was so amazing:
That music is just so perfect.
That is, being utterly disgusting.
i liked it
Edited:
it really wasnt that bad
it sounds worse than it is when you describe it
ive seen worse in holocaust movies
The history of the world part one
well its okay but it didn't really stick in my memory.
I think it's mainly because it's combining more... what's that word...Things people despise. Together.
I thought the movie itself was pretty good as in, how it was written. But the whole idea is rather sick ofcourse.
And that's what it was meant to be.
1000000/10
This movie man, my favourite science fiction film of all time.
is prometheus worth watching at the cinema? Or should i wait for it to come to dvd?
I'm biding time. I don't want to rush to see it, so when I'm in a Ridley Scott mood, I'll give it a watch.
if you're a fan of the original Alien and you like needlessly complicated movies, then yes, it's worth it
on that note, I saw Alien yesterday for the first time, after watching prometheus. pretty good, and a nice change of pace from the overly complicated, action filled Prometheus, to the slow (but tense) and simplistic movie that is Alien.
I loved the dialogue and the performances, really well written, as well as the atmosphere. It reminded me of Blade Runner on those aspects.
It's definitely a visually stunning movie so in that sense the cinema experience is something to consider
prometheus isnt complicated it's just confusing because the plot makes so little sense
I didn't mean complicated in the sense of being hard to understand, I meant complicated as in there's too much info in it compared to Alien.
Edited:
it's confusing indeed, but that's because of the questions left unanswered, not because the plot makes no sense, IMO
its messy and rushed and shallow and hints at answers and put questions in your head and then doesn't go anywhere with them at all it does it so many times, and reasoning for some of the stuff is pretty dumb/barely there
Edited:
dont get me wrong I liked the film it was just not a very solid script at all lmao
Piranha 3DD was fucking retarded. At first it was serious, then everything was so crappy, i couldn't stop laughing at how stupid everything was. Also, David Hasselhoff.
8/10 for boobs. 0/10 for acting. 1/10 for trying to keep the series alive with an UNEXPECTED CLIFFHANGER. 10/10 for Hasselhoff. 10/10 for amputated black guy in a wheelchair shooting piranhas with his shotguns leg.
ok I guess thats a fair definition of it
its kinda stupid that a movie that was supposed to answer questions ended up raising even more, but that's my only BIG complaint about it
Gonna watch a bunch of crime movies, first by rewatching The Departed, then watching Drive.
Any other good crime films?
Seven, L.A. Confidential, Bad Lieutenant (the new one), American Gangster, Casino.
L.A. Confidential is a great one that I always forget about
Alrighty, thanks guys.
Goodfellas
Bad taste
id give it 6/10.
It wasn't a bad movie. Sometimes some weird dialogue, even for the movie. But the overall retardedness of the movie is part of its charm i guess. I did like the ending, and the movie got me laughing sometimes.
I did find it a little slow going in the beginning. That's why i give it a 6.
It also funny to see how Peter Jackson got from bad taste and braindead to movies like lord of the rings and lovely bones.
Prometheus 3D IMAX
Well its only worth the extra money for the IMAX if you're dripping with disposable income like I am, otherwise the normal cinema screen is enough. Story was fantastic and I thought the performances were great, Fassbender like everybody is saying steals the show.
Many are saying the film leaves too many questions unanswered but I was satified that it covered everything so either I'm too stupid to look at the bigger picture and ask questions or I'm fucking Einstein. I understood all of the reasons, the whys and hows I think, feel free to prove me wrong. This was a great film, I was very happy with it.
i liked it too.
honestly i thought it was hilarious. not in a bad way either, just how fast shit escalated and how at the halfway point pretty much every major action taken by any character is fucked up in some way. i guess it was so fucked up it peaked for me or something or like jumped the shark but like in a good way without being corny i guess.
it's not the actual events themselves that are fucked up, it's the entire movie as a whole.
and when i say hilarious i mean the actual definition, not the bullshit casual use. like how we use the word awesome to describe something great, when awesome really means so great that it passes the event horizon of greatness that you're just awe struck. or awful, same thing. used to mean something worthy of awe, now it means something terrible.
Edited:
i'd probably be going out on a limb saying this but deep down inside i think that the movie is a parody of all the movies that have been coming out recently that are apart of this extreme cinema movement out of france.
martyrs and irreversible are probably the two best examples.
Ok, let's looks at some of the questions:
Were the patterns really an invitation?
How did these ancient people even know about the pattern?
How do they know the engineers created them, and WHY would they even think of that hypothesis?
Why does the old man think he can get eternal life?
What did the infected guy turn into? (the scientist)
And why did one of the infected guys (the scottish one) become a zombie?
Why was he in such an awkward position outside the ship?
What was the worm that came out of the infected scientist's eye?
What was that black goo?
Why did the engineers want to destroy the humans?
What was the alien's motivation?
Why did that guy's head explode?
Why would Vickers have a medical thing in her room that's only for male patients?
Is Shaw going to find her answers?
Why are there so many species of aliens?
I'm pretty sure those aren't all the questions
The Iron Giant (1999) - 8/10
Great movie and I love the animations.
The animation is so fluent here.
I have to watch this ASAP.
Rewatched The Departed - 9/10
I knew what was going on, but the movie was still great.
Drive - 9/10
Ryan Gosling is amazing
drive best movie all years every year
yeah, it was great
