I am tempted to do a run where I just haul ass to New Vegas through the deathclaw hell. Sounds like fun/ suicide.

Honestly, from reading the in-game fluff, I'm not even sure the Legion would even put up much of a fight.
Thinking realistically, a bunch of douchebag tribals wielding swords would get torn to pieces by the NCR. This would be fine if they had the numbers, but the NCR apparently outnumbers them as well.
That's what I gathered from the flavor text anyways.

Legion vastly outnumber the NCR since the NCR expected the first battle of hoover to be the majority of their fighting force.

Atleast, the Legion outnumber the NCR who are actually there, since the majority of them are further west.

The NCR is just slightly larger than California because of their expansion. The Legion is every tribe that existed East of the Mojave.

Up to a certain point.
I'm not saying I know where this point is, but we know Caesar has Arizona. I think he has New Mexico and Colorado as well, and at least part of Utah. I think that's it.

On a sidenote and to actually contribute to this thread, does anyone know of any good NPC mods for FO NV besides the "monster mod" which adds tyranids and stalker imports and shit? I don't dislike that mod so much as I'd rather have something that fits in more with the lore and setting across the board. I guess I've kinda been spoiled by Mart's Mutant Mod from FO 3 in that regard.

After a few weeks of playing I'm experiencing a bug involving silent NPCs in FNV during and out of dialogue, strangely enough they can speak if I keep my Pip-Boy radio on. Does anyone know a fix for this?

I went into Vegas with 133 caps, I'm now banned from all the casinos and have 31,593. Time to go to the clinic and become the Six Million Dollar Man's stunt double.

Gonna start a Forest Gump playthrough.
High luck and strength, low intelligence. Only going to use equipment that the US Military used in Vietnam and fists.
I think I'd have extreme flexibility with this. I'd be able to use things like the hunting shotgun, hunting rifle, M1911, Detectives Pistol (Pilots had snub nose pistols), This Machine, Service rifle obviously, Browning Hi power, Grenade Rifle, I know that the Greasegun was used, but was the thompson still in use?

9mm pistol? There aren't any browning hi power pistols in the game.

Technically not, considering the 9mm pistol in Fallout: New Vegas isn't made by Browning (it's made by M&A Gun Manufacturers ingame). However, it is heavily based upon the Browning Hi Power design and there isn't a different name for it, so everyone just calls it a Hi Power.

Yes, but it wasn't in as nearly widespread of use as the "Grease Gun," and saw most of its use with the South Vietnamese and even Viet-Cong.

how do i know what DLC i have?
i rented from gamefly and it seems "that gun" comes only in the 5.56 variety like in the gun runner's pack.
there are also a bunch of other little things that lead me to believe i have DLC on this game. only thing is when i go to the DLC screen it's blank

i think any gun from the gun runners' arsenal has GRA in front of the name.
but i'm pretty sure if the DLC screen says it's blank you don't have gun runners' arsenal

That Gun doesn't have a 5.56 variety, it can only be repaired with them.

So i just took my second level as a dog in the Fallout PnP game we're playing
So, since dogs get perks every second level unlike any other race, i was picking my perks.
I was looking over the perks, trying to find a perk i could actually pick at second level, when it struck.
There were litterally no perks i could pick.
There are two perks in the entire game that does not require that you are higher than second level, one of these requires 40 first aid skill, which i obviously did not have as a dog, and the other specifically said in the perk description that dogs could not take it.
A+ game design.

I really hope they are making a new Fallout right now and we'll have an announcement by the end of the year even though it's unlikely. Skyrim just wasn't good enough to bridge the gap between F3/NV & the next Fallout.

Skyrim is good enough to bridge the gap to a point but the Fallout series is usually better

Because 5.56mm is roughly equivalent to .223cal, and it's 'That Gun that shot .223 rounds from Fallout and Fallout 2".

As impossible as it is, I wish Bethesda would give New Vegas back to Obsidian and say "Oi, here's another year to work on this and improve the game in every way possible and we'll release it as an expansion pack. Also, no bonus based on Meta-Critic scores, just on quality." That would be amazing.

Best possible improvement they could make to the Fallout franchise is a new fucking engine.
Bethbryo is the source of about 80% of the game's problems.

Most of the negatives in the bethbryo game reviews are that they are all terribly clunky and buggy.
