Finally bought me one of those surplus Army ammo cans to take with me to the range when I go. (50 cal of course.) I was going to buy a 40mm one, but it stunk like ass and the lid pulled off on both sides rather than just one.

Yay, my 600 rounds of 7.62x54r on stripper clips arrived today. The ammo's in great condition (at least the first can that I opened) and I can't wait to head out and go shooting in two weeks.

I got it from the 7.62x54r page at SGAmmo.com. The stuff on stripper clips is quite old (mine is from 1951, most are 1946-47), but the Russian silver tip ammo is supposed to be some of the best stuff around.

Guys, I need an opinion... I started working at a gun store two weeks ago (dream job!) and I get discounts on stuff. I'm looking at either getting a FAL, or save up for something better like a higher end AR-15. The FAL is running at $600.00 in pretty good condition and AR's are $900.00. Which should I go for?

Get the FAL, AR-15s are more common than grass.

FAL

you can shoot longer with it, .308.

Though it'll cost more to shoot, it's a hell of a lot more fun.
