Erhm, I haven't read their codex, but from what I have heard, try to include the biggest horde of angry marines geared for close combat you can and you should do okay. They should be quite okay for regular games, but not totally geared for tournaments.

BT don't even have a 5e codex I thought?
I know there's lots of bitching about the MEQ chapters having fucked up codexes, isn't there ONLY standard, vampirefaggots, and wolffaggots?
Actually viking spehss mehrines are pretty cool but since this codex is imbalanced as hell they have a bad rap right now

BT have no 5e at this time, the local GW staff doubted seeing one anytime soon which is why I was abit hesitant to use them. As for updates in 5e the online FAQ fills in bits here and there in the BT that have changed.

Get Assault Squads (remove some of the jetpacks for Crusaders) and Melee Scouts. Lots of them.

What should I highlight the black with? Just a really dark grey? Oh yeah the bases are coming, just haven't really decided on how to model them. I'm thinking snow.
Do you mean for highlighting or just to paint them in a lighter color?

Black Templars are better than Vanilla SM in a few ways though.
1)Accept any Challenge vow gives every unit but Neophytes re-rolls to hit (Preferred Enemy)
2)All Terminators can get either Tank Hunters or Furious Charge for 3+ pts each. So now your Terminators strike enemy Terminators and Marines first, and they do a shit ton of damage with the 1+ strength bonus and re-rolls to wound from LC's.
3)The Emperors Champion is only 90 pts, (granted, you have to get a vow with him) and he is one of the few Space Marine Characters that strikes at I5 and WS6 with a weapon that isn't S4. His Sword gives him S6. He also has a 2+ save and a 4+ Invuln.
4)Their Marshall (BT Captain) gets a choice of anything from a huge armoury, almost twice the goodies that the Vanilla Captains get, and for 20 pts cheaper, because barebones marshalls only cost 80 pts. Oh, and they give every unit LD 10, making Righteous Zeal tests even more dangerous.
5)Righteous Zeal lets them move forward an extra D6 when shot at.
6)20 Man squads. In a Space Marine army.
7)Not even the FAQ changed the fact that BT Multi Meltas, Melta Guns and Las Cannons have AP1.

I put together two of the gun drones.
I had to pop the parts out by hand, leaving those damn marks. I also overdid the glue a little bit on the left one. No matter, I can paint over them eventually.

I meant highlighting. Even rough highlighting helps the look of even a basic miniature a lot.

Are all the different race campaigns in Retribution pretty much the same?

Yeah, although there are slight differences in rewards, and the Tyranids get a bonus mission that the other races don't get.

most relic/THQ games are shit.
DOW and CoH were good but most other stuff by them is too arcadey or made for the "we're trying to open our game to wider audiences" which basically means "we want the COD players for money". I mean they spent I think around 3 years on Space Marine and ended up releasing a game which only looked like it could of taken under a year to make with terrible console themed controls and multiplayer.
Their RTS games usually involved rehashed shit like the infamous SS and DOWII campaigns.

For a Daemonhammer (Thunder Hammer?), it doesn't seem very effective against bandits.

An astartes and a thunder hammer would make a red paste with bandits.

And the thunder hammer now does 150 damage, 200 shock damage and knock back, so it's better. I'll release it here and ONLY HERE eventually.

Praetorian Guard.
To be honest I didn't expect such thing in W40K universe. They look just like British army in the second half of XIX century.

Most of the Imperial Guard regiments, especially the earlier ones, are based off historical armies.
The Big Toof River Massacre is basically Rorke's Drift, iirc.

I miss them. The Praetorian's were half the reason I went Guard when I first started, but I was crushed when I found out they weren't produced anymore. I wish Games Workshop, or anyone really, would produced more random Guard regiments. I know Forge World does that, but those are hella expensive.
The Praetorian's were so amazing.

I just want Games Workshop produced all their models in plastic, not metal. A little difficult to mix parts from a Valhallan and a Cadian regiment.

I know that feel. Thousand sons are plastic and metal mix.
Although i have parts on arriving soon that I'm going to do some cool conversions with, one is going to be a mix of plastic, finecost and metal.
I'm going to paint him with me new airbrush. (after some practice on some normal marines.)
