    I'm surprised how the game doesn't have some sort of anti stack or team balance
    It's bot frustrating and disgusting how your team is made of 4 silvers (incluiding you) and the rest are bronze players (some of them not even over level 8), and the enemy team is a stack of gold and silver players.
    The enemy team caps once or twice at the beggining of the match and then half the team goes tech and doombringer, and after 10 minutes a decent capper joins and captures twice, game stays 2-2 or 4-4 and we go into overtime, and the enemy wins
    Just kill me already
    it kinda do have anti stack system. if one team is stacked they will win quickly and nobody gets high xp. basicly the game only rewards balanced matches

    it kinda do have anti stack system. if one team is stacked they will win quickly and nobody gets high xp. basicly the game only rewards balanced matches
    or temple ruins matches.

    What are flying pitch and yaw settings for? Don't seem to change anything when I mess with them.

    As nice as it would be to have class limits, they're a bad idea.
    Your best class is maxed out. What can you do? not much.
    All of the classes you own are maxed out. Welp, looks like you can't play...

    That's kind of the point of custom servers, for players to police themselves. Autobalance is broken right now anyway (it doesn't even wait until you're dead before switching you). What I REALLY want is team scramble in quick matches before each round starts to prevent team stacking.

    Tribes ascend is actually very, VERY broken.

    You can't do class limits, as some people won't be able to play if all the classes they own are maxed out.
    People who have paid or played for longer have more choice and therefore have an advantage.

    what you said makes sense for teams, a team that have too many newbies with only 3 starter classes has a disadvantage against a team that have classes unlocked.

    The problem with Ascend is that the classes were made to fill certain roles in the gameplay, and each has their own set of retardedly overpriced unlocks. Meaning that to class-limit them could mess up gameplay, cause people to fight over the slots (I'm better than you are at class X!), and force people to pick classes they don't normally use.

    But on the other hand, some classes are just simply better than others. The Juggernaut is simply hands-down the best multi-role class in the game, hence why so many people play it and invest so much into it.

    Blegh. Ascend needs a SERIOUS balance makeover. It's starting to fall apart very fast.

    The starter classes fill the roles sufficiently enough. Pathfinder for flag capping/chasing, Juggernaut for base offense or flag defending, soldier for roaming or general base defense. The unlockable classes are just extensions of those roles. They're also attainable in only a few matches. Even without VIP you should be able to get like a class a week plus a few upgrades.

    How many of those kills did you actually work for and how many actually belong to your belt button?

    This game is excellent, almost perfect, except WHY THE FUCK does the infiltrator have a full auto grenade launcher with no counter? That'd be like giving the Spy, Demo's launcher ffs.

    Mines do so it would be quite odd if the fractals didn't count.

    Also its possible to get airmails with frag grenades. Did that as a doombringer once odd stuff.

    I still think that if a team has the most pathfinders, they should not be able to win.

    I was in one game where we had two DMB's doing HoF, two techs doing rounds of the whole base making sure shit was fixed. Sentential's were in position to snipe cappers, Infiltartors were doing their shit.

    Juggernauts were either roaming our base for defence or roaming their base to cause havok (as was a brute or two) And we had two pathfinders doing flag runs.


    Heck it was borderline MAGIC to see such good team cohesion, but as we all know, magic is not real and the universe hates everything.

    The enemy team had 5-7 pathfinders, two of which would sit on the base with thrust packs waiting to chase.

    The rest would descend upon the flag-stand like a horde of hell-bats. Not even the best placed DMB defence could withstand the sudden 3-4 bolt launcher shots that would destroy every forcefield, mine, claymore and even one of the DMBs outright. The paths then just sailed on past, not giving two fucks about the turrets the techs had set up or the sentinels who keps missing by micro-factions.

    Even with this lightning offence, anyone trying to capture the flag had better make sure their last will and testament was in order because the two chasers would just time their shots and oneshot a pathfinder as he passed the flagstand. They didn't even have to move half the time.

    So as a brute, I decided to execute operation GOTTAGOFAT, and managed to get a flag gab at 190-220 SANICS.

    However the paths on the flag just used their thrust packs and could impact nitron me before I even had the flag for more than 15 seconds.

    What was particularly galling was that the rest of their team was just juggs and a tech in the gen room and they were never seen except for the Infs, who eventually gave up and went DMB.


    In sort, a team of nothing but PTH's won, despite out mixed defence, offence and disruptiuon tactics.


    You look me in the eye and tell me than an all class spam in a class based shooter should be able to win frequently.
    Ah, the cluster tactic. It gets used in competive play alot. The offense has the advantage in Tribes. You can't do crap against 6 people in coordinated attacks. Sentinel can reduce the number that are at full strength when they get there, but wave tactics are very effective. A carrier with 3 escorts is going to cap if they are on a good route.
