I can't decide if I want reach or safety third. Being able to get past heavies standing on the flag would be nice, but so would another impact nitron.

Lots of people swear by safety third since the more nitrons you have, the faster you go. But, if I was a capper I'd go for reach because in terms of practicality it's nicer to still grab even if you get knocked a little off-course and really there isn't much advantage to going 300 instead of 250 in a pub match.

On the other hand of course extra nitrons will be better if you find yourself chasing more than grabbing.

On the new map, its kind of hard to do because the collision meshes are really off, (possibly to prevent people from doing it), but if you can get all the way to the top of the big cliff things in the center, you get a ridiculous amount of speed by jumping down to the volcano's sides. (250+ without nitrons)

Played tribes a little bit on the alpha, then stopped until the recent overhaul (the one with new UI and all) I'm enjoying the shit out of this game, also found a new avatar in this thread. I have been playing raider pretty much exclusively, and I don't see why everyone prefers the arx buster, nade launcher is better in nearly every aspect I think, apart from the learning curve, gotta admit trying to time the nade roll is harder than nades sticking.

Also Safety third and scavenger rock, especially in the gen rooms, you become nearly immortal with shields on.

I'm thinking of making a short video of me playing and letting you guys see where I can improve on.

If it explodes it's activated and the tech can see it.

I am sorta convinced that at the moment 'area' is rather unbalanced; honestly, a solider verses a pathfinder on a very small map is not going to end well for the former.

The only reason I use the phase rifle is because I'm in total denial about it being useless as I wasted a fuckton of XP on it

I changed class later to kill the infiltrator guy, he was foiling my sniping with his stealth spinfusor. I think if I were to buy any weapon with gold, I'd get that first, being stealth class with a spinfusor seems awesome, plus it looks so badass in red.

Infiltrators looks so damn sinister it's sexy, however they get pretty easily countered by a multitude of things pretty much every class can do, so they take extreme skill to perform as good as any of the easier classes.

Stealth spinfusor deals the same damage as the light one or less?
