What is Adventure Time?
Adventure Time is a TV show on Cartoon Network. It features a 13 year-old boy Finn, and his magical dog/half brother Jake. The two of them fight evil, save princesses and explore the post apocalyptic world of Ooo, several thousand years after a nuclear was that devastated earth.
Seriously.
CHARACTERS
Finn
Finn is one of the two main protagonists of Adventure Time. He is a feisty little boy with a heart of gold, and only wants to do good in the world, even if that means kicking the shit out of giant monsters and villainous villains. He is very acrobatic and usually uses one of his swords to fight, if not his fists of justice.
Jake
Jake is the second of the two main protagonists of the show. He is a magical dog that can stretch his body and shape shift. He is usually the voice of reason and advice for Finn, and although he usually means well, he can be somewhat lazy and selfish. Regardless, he fights for truth and justice loyally alongside Finn.
EXTRA CHARACTERS
Princess Bubblegum
Princess Bubblegum is 18 year old genetically princess of the Candy Kingdom in Ooo. She is the main love interest of the story, her age change in the 2nd season finale but change back during season 3. She is a nice sweet girl most of the time, but if angered, can be down right terrifying. Usually she can be seen getting saved, or forgiving Finn for messing something up.
The Ice King
The Ice King former main antagonist of Adventure time. He is an evil old wizard who stole magic powers and stored them inside a crown, giving him the absolute control over all ice. He is a creepy old man who kidnaps princesses and tries to marry them.
Marceline
Marceline is one of Finn's friends. While her intentions usually point towards evil, they always turn out harmless in the end. She used to be a human many thousands of years ago, but was turned into a vampire by unknown means. She is usually seen with Finn, causing some sort of chaos.
Beemo
Appeared in season 2? Bmo is an androgynous robot who lives with Finn and Jake. He doesn't go on an adventure but at least he helps them sometimes.
Lady Rainicorn
Appeared in the very first episode. She is Jake's girlfriend and Princess Bubblegum's best friend, but she can only speak Korean.
WHY SHOULD I CARE/SHOULD I WATCH THIS SHOW?
It's a show about a post apocalyptic world and a boy who fights evil with his magic dog, why wouldn't you watch it?

Dad's Dungeon: Jake's dad presents a strange challenge to the guys when he appears to them in a holographic message.
So wait, his dead dad sends him a holographic message?
Scary.
Second to final episode of the season guys! God I hope they don't do anything like Mortal Recoil and have something completely changing happen then go back.

Although the animation is superb, and there are some awesome moments, this show doesn't do it for me. At first I thought it was great, almost flawless, but then I started noticing, it seems like the writer likes too much random-ness. Sometimes I feel he just creates the plot in a minute without putting too much thought into some neat jokes. Maybe is just his style, but I can't help but notice this same trend on Spongebob's new seasons (a show which I think must be one of the best of it's generation). I notice this in other shows like Chowder, Flapjack and Regular Show (I've just seen one episode of this one, so I may be wrong). The thing is, all these shows have amazing art, but they seem too sloppy for me (although Flapjack stands out).
Another example of these kind of cartoons I found recently was one called "The Amazing World of Gumball". You can see the creativity in it's artwork, but when it comes to the jokes, or just funny situations, it doesn't deliver, IMHO.
Hell, I'll have to take a look at My Little Pony...

Speaking of which there's a Big Lebowski reference on an episode of MLP.
I watched MLP for a bit but it got sort of bland after 5 or so episodes. I personally like Adventure Time and the lot because it's better than most the crap Cartoon Network (and most other TV channels) spew out.

Ice king was studying to be an antiquarian of artifacts when he bought the crown off a dock worker, but when he put on the crown it drove him mad.

Is it just me or does it seem like Jake might get mad that his dad was setting up something for Finn and not him?

Don't watch the first two episodes unless you want to learn some Characters.

This is the case for some of Adventure Time's episodes, however, a lot of them continue on the same plot, same backstory. As far as this series has gotten, we get a little bit more info on the world they live in and such almost every new episode.

As far as I'm concerned she's either dead, Bubblegum, or Dr. Princess. All signs point to Bubblegum, but with this show you never know.

I liked this episode, but I was even more excited for the episode they aired right after the new one. It was the old Halloween special that had everyone in the haunted house. I love that episode.

The description: Jake embarks on a solo mission to help a broken-hearted Finn.
I guess he's going in alone while Finn balls his eyes out. I wonder what Fire Princess looks like, and if she'll be an important character later on or just be a one episode princess like most others.
