I thought that was CGI at first.
I thought that was CGI at first.
Can I have a full size for a new background on my computer?
It does kinda, Max Factory does some incredible stuff. The detail is over the top.

I'm deep down the uncanny valley right now, my mind just can't process this as a photograph. Best thing i've seen on this thread so far.
Take of picture of it not against a background. I'm having a hard time believing that this is real. Plus the wall is just too perfectly colored.
Well I flattened out the background in photoshop because there was a little bit of the table poking into the bottom of the image, but here is what it looked like before I did that:
and here is another where you can see a little depth from the wide aperture:
I agree that it has an uncanny and CGI look about it. I think it has to do with those perfectly smooth gradients that it is painted with.
Wait, so those pictures are SOOC? Jesus, they still look like CGI. Tell me your secrets.
Must be the figurine, it's so perfect. Your gf's gonna love it. (and if she doesn't i'm willing to pay for shipping)
Do you happen to have a larger version of the picture you posted on DA? I feel like it's time for me to change my wallpaper.
How do you get the lighting so perfect? I'm only a beginner and I think I've gotten an okay eye for pictures, I just have trouble getting my photos to look how I want.

This is a great shot.
awesome
Bopie really doesn't like this.
Since its all natural lighting, i just work around the light at the time. Ever since I've been taking photos i kind of see the world in light now. Gaps in shadows and small spots of sunlight. The flicker of fire and gaps of light by doors only ajar.

You are now officially my favourite poster in this thread
It's kinda surreal, it looks like he was photoshopped onto the picture somehow. I love it.

Tiiiiny bit of panning? Amazing.
What the shit.
That looks like a 3D Render.

Whoops. Missed the previous discussion about this picture..

First time in my college's studio mainly trying to get lighting right really.
Love the lighting and shadows in the second one!
First one is good too, but I prefer the second.
More urban exploring.

damn lens flare on that second one though :(
Edited:
didn't really get any good shots today
I like the sky and the reflections, very dramatic.
Also the blown out bit in the right top corner of the second one is cool!
Shame for all the cars, personally I find them a bit distracting, but that's not really something you can control. :D
The second one though is much better imho since you cut more on the left so you don't see any car (that's close at least) in full.
yeah that's what I thought about the first one, what gets me about the second is the fucking lens flare
suppose I still coulda done some work to manually edit it out but it'd have been really noticable
Lightroom maaaaaaan.
i've got it man, wasn't much I could do with simple functions, would have to use the brush shit to get rid of it and my experience with that so far has been sub-par
I might give it a go later on though, no harm in trying again
Long time since I posted anything, but now that I got my D3100 I've started taking a shit ton of photos, some good, some terrible.
There's a contest going on around here, the theme of it being "Time". Basically, show the passing of time through a single shot. I tried several things, like taking photos of old buildings/decaying things, long exposures, but thought they were too generic. Then I found a dusty cobwebed room with a shelf inside and a bunch of empty jars on it; in the end I started moving the web around and placing photos under the jars, which should resemble memories, as well as a fading candle.
Any opinions?
The idea and composition are spot on, but the white light doesn't seem right. You could do some post processing and getting it to look a little warmer, but what I would do, If I could, would be to go back at either sunset or sunrise (sunset would seem more appropriate with the theme) and capture some more Dramatic lighting.
Hope that helps :)
