Are these good for their price?
201's are pretty good if you're on a tight budget. Don't expect miracles though.
Is it worth getting a Fiio E10 DAC with my Grado SR80i's in comparison with my laptops onboard sound?
Most probably, depends on the laptop.
Opinions on the Samson SR850? It doesn't seem to be a popular pick...
Should I stick to getting JVC HARX700 instead?
whats wrong with HTF600
Edited:
I say this because I don't like HARX700 that much, they aren't good for gaming, and I've never sued SR850.
For that price the HARX900 is pretty great for games imo.
Edited:
Welp, I see the prices inflated nvm
Budget:100$
eBay: none
Country: US
Isolation: Closed ear
Purpose: 50% music, 50% gaming, when I'm not gaming I'm listening to music.
Music Tastes: Death metal, Metal, Progressive(Rush).
Previous Experiences: I've had a pair of Astro A40's, I've been using them for the past 4 1/2 years now, and they're just warn out. I've sent them in for a repair/tuneup
Comments: I'd like a pair to replace them. I'd prefer a headset with a mic on it so I can use it with my xbox as well.
I've never sued any headphones myself. What did they do?
I think there are a couple of things going on here: First, the Samson is an open type of headphone, soundstage and detail oriented. It doesn't pump out the bass in other words, it's more neutral. Some people don't like that kind of sound especially if they listen to bass heavy music.
That JVC used to be the 'go to' headphone for people on a budget. But now that Panasonic 600 is the new 'go to' at that price point. I think the only advantage the JVC has over that Panasonic is it is more closed, if that's important to you.
Uh, is there any specific reason why I can't find any of these headphones for sale here in Brazil, except for the Koss PortaPro? The only other one I found was the Koss KSC75, but for 60 bucks.
dunno, a lot of them are imports from Japan or Germany so maybe it costs too much to move them to Brazil
Would it be worth it to save up for the Sennheiser HD558s?
http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser...dphones_504765 I'm thinking about buying these, costs about 80€ here.
This looks like amazing value for the money, and has been reviewed favourably on Head Fi.
Do you guys think this headset is worth the money?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826785024
no
My HARX900 seem to outperform my ATH-M50's in several games, so I was thinking of getting some Sennheiser 558's for games/movies, whilst I use my M50's solely for doing radio stuff and listening to music. Anyone have these, know if it's a good buy/I should do the 598 mode on them?![]()
I have an Acer 5553G with a Realtek HD onboard sound card.
No headset it ever worth the money. At least no "gaming" ones are.
well could you point me in the direction of a decent pair of headphones and desktop mic then?
The original post, maybe? Shit.
Budget? Tastes?
Budget: about a 100$, can go slightly over.
eBay: none
Country: US
Isolation: Closed ear
Purpose: 50% music, 50% gaming, when I'm not gaming I'm listening to music.
Music Tastes: Death metal, Metal, Progressive(Rush).
Previous Experiences: I've had a pair of Astro A40's, I've been using them for the past 4 1/2 years now, and they're just warn out. I've sent them in for a repair/tuneup
Comments: I'd like a pair to replace them. I'd prefer a headset with a mic on it so I can use it with my xbox as well.
Budget: Under $150 (Allow about $25 for shipping)
eBay: Preferred
Country: Canada
Isolation: Closed, though an open pair wouldn't be the end of the world
Purpose: Gaming, Music, TV Shows, Music
Music Tastes: Electronic and rock
Previous Experiences: Sennheiser PX100 (Decent, though the plastic snapped after a year and a half), Koss KSC75 (I'm fairly happy with them, though I'm not a huge fan of the clip-on style), Meelectronics SP51P (Great earbuds, plenty of bass and they feel very durable)
Comments: I don't want to buy an amp, they need to be comfortable (i.e. nothing that will clamp my head) and they need to be fairly durable.
Just bought the Sony MDR-V6s, waiting for them to arrive. Pretty much every review I've read says they're great.
Edited:
If I get a desktop microphone, should it be USB or a 3.5mm jack.
Budget: $25-35
eBay: nope
Country: Argentina
Isolation: Closed air, circumaural
Purpose: Gaming and music
Music Tastes: Pretty much everything
Previous Experiences: shitty $10 dollar headsets
Comments: I'm no audiophile, but I'd like something that didn't get uncomfortable after an hour, and didn't break after a month. It would also be good if it was a headset, or if you could recommend a clip-on mic for $10 or so. Can't use a desktop one, there's too much shit on my desktop and I move my head around too much.
Also, HEADPHONES. People on steam keep suggesting in-ear and ear-clip crap for my budget.
I think that you could go for a pair of HTF600's and either a Modmic or the Zalman clip-on thing.
Edited:
You could probably squeeze a pair of HD201's and a Zalman clip-on in your budget.
Ooooh, Sennheiser. Tried a pair of those once. Amazing sound.
They're $50 in my country, though. I should look around for an US or UK store that can sell them for less than that with shipping included.
I put a link to them in my post, see if you can get them shipped to your country cheaply.
Oh well. I'll look around. Thanks for the model!
Im looking for a cheap headphone to use for gaming and skype.
Budget: around €25

Country: I live in the Netherlands
Isolation: Don't really care
Purpose: Gaming and Skype

I was already thinking to buy the Sennheiser HD 202 II
Get a pair of HD201's. The 202's are apparently not worth the extra.
Going to try my hand at modding some T50RPs, can't wait to have $600 sounding headphones for $150, if all goes well.
If I recall, Brazil has pretty ridiculous taxes on certain electronics, making normal imports sort of hard to make profitable.
I also saw the Pioneer SE-M290.
Is this a good headphone for the money or should i chose a sennheiser?
Btw, also found the Philips SHP2000, much people say that one has morefull bass (What i like) and it is 10 euro's cheaper than the sennheiser.
I also had the sennheiser on my head one time in a shop, and with the tip of my ear i can feel the inside of the earshell.
Think im gonna buy the Philips SHP2000, had a philips on ear with great bass, but the cable broke.
Btw, is there any difference in the SHP2500 and SHP2000?
Pff, another edit : Did research on the interwebs and people say the SHP2500 has a volume rocker, longer cable and much better bass.
Looks like im going for the SHP2500 :D
Why not just get some HTF600's then?
They cost 45 euro in my country lol
I have it worse here, VAT is 21% stacked on top of shipping, makes most electronics TWICE as expensive compared with buying them in the US.
I have to deal with the "we live in the middle of the fucking ocean so we pay whatever the seller wants you to pay" tax.
Also known as the Australia tax.
