So Walter White is a complete meanie now and the beginning of episode 2 season 5 made me want to kill him. Also the ending to this episode reminded me completely of the pilot episode.

After all, he is the one who knocks .
It's a pretty intense transformation.
After Season 4 ended I looked at the photos of him during Season 1. It's insane how well they did this although I personally feel him getting cockier in Season 5 is too fast.
That time-bomb metaphor was definitely foreshadowing something. I'm going to take it at face value and say that Walt and Jesse get found out and killed.
Anyone notice in the scene with Hank, Gomie, and their (soontobeex)boss how the camera stayed on the shot of Hank's arm across Gomie's face for way too long? Foreshadowing something big.

I think it's perfectly okay because of him feeling invincible now that he killed Gus.
It's called irony. The laptop was red herring and destroying it actually uncovered more evidence when they didn't need to do anything in the first place

Walt acting invincible is just asking for trouble, how cocky he is now is just, like Mike said, a timebomb.
I think with the cold opening in episode 1, it's not a matter of "if" but "when"
True, there was a bit too much cockyness for my liking in episode 1 though.

Walter's going to get himself in way over his head. Although we don't yet know the situation for the premiere's opening, I feel that the machine gun seems a bit overkill.

oh god gus
only thing that is bothering me at the moment is Why did Gus write down all the bankcodes down on the back of a photograph, it seems really careless for him, surely he would keep it encrypted on his laptop, it just strikes me out of character.
Maybe since she's such a pathological liar she can see through Walt's bullshit.
They were hidden in the frame at his house not on the back of it. It's the one place they wouldn't think to search for actual evidence.

She's fully believed in it this long and she's emotional as fuck. Not to mention it's more she's just a klepto not a huge liar. If she was they would've done more than YOU STOLE THEN LIED scenario every single time.
I don't know she was making up some pretty elaborate stories when she was checking out homes. Another idea why she might be there is because Skylar told her something out of fear of Walt.
They would have covered it if she did. They can't just say "oh while you were re-organizing I had an in-depth plot critical conversation" and act like it's ok.
That's not to say it isn't possible, just that it definitely hasn't happened yet.
While done really well I can tell you the German in the new episode is not done by native speakers.

Great acting by Jessi's actor in Ep2
why the hell was jessie crying? i feel like this season's calling back significantly to 3 and 4, and I don't remember them well enough. I understand Gilligan's just tying up loose ends, but it's still annoying. I hate feeling out of the loop.
jesse held a gun to Walts head and almost killed him because he believed walt had poisoned brock.
he pointed a gun at walt and accused him of poisoning brock iirc

dammit
oh right, forgot about that.
stupid callbacks.
does this season feel weird to anyone else? I get that the tension's gone, but it's still really annoying.
I think he wanted a physical copy of the numbers in case something happens with the laptop.
this is probably ridiculous but could someone please explain the whole brock/ricin/poison cigarette thing? idk if i'm just an idiot or if it's been a while since i watched bb but i really have no idea what is going on with the cigarette/poison situation. what happened? i know that walt used the lily of the valley to poison brock, then blamed it on gus and thus brought jesse back to his side, but how did he deliver the poison and why were walt/jesse frantically searching for the "ricin cigarette" in the beginning of the new episode?
Jesse was afraid the cigarette would be found by someone and cause them to die.
Neat
CHEMICAL
mathematical doesn't work
I'm not impressed with this season so far. I'm sure as it progresses these episodes will become far more relevant but right now I don't care much for it.
Seeing how the season is going, I wouldn't be surprised if Skylar kills Walt .
Then again, the possibilities are so many:
Jesse killing Walt for poisoning Brock/letting his girlfriend die
Mike killing Walt because he might explode
The Germans killing/arresting Walt because of Gus
Hank arresting Walt after he finds out about everything
The cancer could come back
I think Hank is lying about the laptop encryption. He knows what Walt is, but he just does not want to accept it yet, I think it's been in the back of his head for some time now.
The montage scene was great.
Reminds me of the first two seasons
Now that'd be something interesting.
I think Walt is pushing Skylar to turn him in somehow with this new behaviour, unknowingly at that.
If you're that scared of somebody that's the last thing you would do.
Something I don't get:
S3 spoilers, which shouldn't really be spoiler tagged here at this point, but whatever
Jesse wanted to give ricin to those dealers at the end of s3, but walt didn't want to make any for him. So, how did Jesse manage to get ricin in the end?
Walt gave it to him in Season 4. The ricin was to kill Gus.
Wait shit, now I know what you mean. It was probably just some other poison. Jesse never said it was ricin.
Spoiler tags are [sp ][/sp ].
Also Hank probably doesn't want to accept it because Walt is dangerous and so close to him. He probably thinks that if the Cartel could get him in the states than it'd be much easier for Walt to do worse.
Ignorance is bliss.
