Wooh, recreated my first ever model that I made a few weeks ago, as my fourth model
AO bake worked perfectly now, I guess I had some broken shit on my old one.
2,018 faces, Isn't that around Source engine's preferred face-amount when it comes to viewmodels and such?
Edited:
et vóila!
textured!
I think you should add some weathering on the hammer.
it's not too visible from a distance. I also tried doing the same effect on the chamber and the pin next to it but it ended up looking terrible so I kept it to the hammer and the trigger.
Also, Fleur De Lis!
I'm thinking about making the pin next to the chamber cylinder a bit darker so it stands out from the rest of the gun, about the same darkness the trigger and hammer has
The gun looks to grey in the metal parts, I recommend check out how HL2 or one of the other modelers does his gun metal and trying to emulate that. Love the model!
Thanks, I did all this "texture" work in Photoshop and I'm pretty bad at it so the most I can do is make a few in-built effects and whatnot. I'll give it a look
Bake an AO for it, it's very simple to do, it's literally just placing a Skylight in your envionment then rendering to texture, when you've done that take it into PS and blend it with the diffuse by setting the layer to multiply.
How the fuck did you go from that Tiger to that, nice job!
That's exactly what I already have done when I made the texture
Started with baking an AO, then I exported the AO bakes of each separate part of the model as .png and messed around with them in Photoshop.
Usually when I model something and look at it, I get a sense of, I suppose, pride, but I'm just not getting a good vibe from this, so I'm ditching it.

Smokin'.
EoTech!
Underside and the long front part still W.I.P
this page is full of my stuff, sorry if i'm bothering you guys.
I'll be making that as an attachment for my SCAR once I've finished it.
That's ok I like seeing your stuff.
Btw what are you going to do with that vulture/crab/flea monster? Or is it just random practice.
it's just random practice. all my stuff is tbh.
today's prop - street lamp
512 diffuse spec normal for the main thing, 128 diffuse for the light
Spline text go.
Edited:
its got little pegs between the bars and the lights so it's more connected than it looks

I decided to revisit the PADD Nirrti modeled and I textured back in 2009. Used some normalmap tricks to make the surface look not flat, I think it turned out nice.
You could have used a lot more segments on the circle on top.
The bottom of the handle looks very flimsy with the massive head like that.
Edited:
lol penis references.
The blade part itself is like 3mm wide. Which I guess is okay if you want to smash through cardboard.
started on a terrorist gun today, doing all the easy bits first because it keeps me entertained
Sweaty englishman!
Body! No real body textures so far, only AO and plain colors.
Sweaty englishman is done!

Fucking. Adorable.
It looks nice, but I think there are way too many scratches. It's for an SG mod right? The USAF would not issue out something in that poor of a condition, at least outside of a deployed situation. I wouldn't say the SGC is a camp on the front lines; some of the distant deployed alpha site locations might be more fitting though.
However, I thought this old pic I have might be relevant if that is the look you're going for, it's a supply of berettas at a forward operating base. I think some of those markings might be kind of a neat addon.
It's called wear and tear. In the shows, I can't count how many times people pull out their pistols (Stargate).
Back is a WIP but here's the progress I made since last time, lots of complicated parts at the back.

The stock looks too small, but otherwise good job!
Small how? and thanks.
Maybe it's the angle, could we get a better pic of the stock?
This is beautiful.
The stock is heavily WIP, it looks weird because it's missing the outer shell which I haven't made yet.
first real texture from scratch ever, it's missing a lot of detail but crit/comments?
wood sux hur hur
well now the hardest part is left
