I do both of those
Sometimes you just have to look down. And I have it on 5 (stated before)
That's the lowest I'm comfortable going without colors being washed out

I bought a Quickfire Rapid on the spur of the moment with spare Paypal cash.
I don't think I made too bad a choice, so let's see what it's like.
I got mine 3 days ago, blue switches. Its pretty nice if you ask me, good bang for the buck. Also I don't miss the numpad at all.
Bought a Logitech G510.. more useable than whatever I had before (That was a cheap thing, this cost me like 80 but its got media controls and a load of macro keys and a full size layout..)
Still, wish I could be on a mech...
When I get my own house... one day..
You could have saved 20 more bucks and gotten a decent mechanical
hell you could have gotten the Blackwidow for $80
I've got a Black Widow.
Mum err, doesn't allow me to use it.
I've just aquired a QPad MK-80. Best keyboard I've ever had.
Edited:
Lmao. I love the sound of the keys :D
I can't type at night, because I wake up people in the houseDaskeyboard here.
How does the Das compared to the model M for loudness? I'm probably going to buy one for my next build, but I can't decide on the silent/loud or letters/blank keys. I do rather enjoy having a loud keyboard, but it'd be nice if it didn't keep others awake at night.
Cherry Blues are like a whisper compared to buckling springs.
Too bad my father threw away a perfectly working Model M a few years ago.
Whats a good mechanical keyboard for 50-80$?
I picked up a Black Widow for 89.. Next cheapest I saw was Steel series 6gv2 for like 92
I'm not an expert but I think you're budgets a little low.
That is, for buying retail
I think wherever you're buying from is overpriced.
Probably a mint/very good condition Model M or AT101. Or a Cherry G80-3000 if you want a new board rather than an old one.
CM Quickfire if you don't mind dropping the numpad. I don't even miss it!
I've always used Logitech keyboards, G15/G19/510 (have 4 of those). Those macrokeys and LCD means lots for me because I use every key very efficiently.
Anyway, I came up with a great plan which is. I'm gonna buy a Logitech G13 which have the screen and macrokeys and then a Corsair K90 as a mechanical. It looks like a G510 but without a screen.
Sooo the question is, can anyone vouch for K90 or should I look at another keyboard?
That's a lot of macro keys, but the K90 is a go. K60 doesn't have any macro keys and features a dull wrist rest only for your left hand.
If you live in Europe I reccomend going with a QPad MK-50, their cheapest model, however it has no macro keys nor back lighting.
Money is not a problem for me so I guess K90 it is. Yea I know, I use them for Windows/software/games so its a must for me. Even the LCD which may seem like a gimmick to most is valuable for me. Mostly because of "Aida64" that shows temps and everything about your comp WHILE you're gaming/other stuff.
Why would you need temps if you're gaming? If it doesn't overheat after about 15 minutes of Prime95 then it wont in games.
There are more to it than just temps, if I can in a easy way check everything on a LCD I will. Tabbing out is just tedious.
I enjoy using the timer/clock on my G510 as well as seeing my GPU utilization, GPU temps, and memory usage on my LCD.
Something that I would like to have on a mechanical.
I tweeted @Logitech and they replied that they are looking into a G series Mech board and that I should post in a particular topic. So i did. Though it's not too active. A post every few days.
I think I'd only be satisfied from a feature point of view if they made a MX black G510 or G19.
Thats my dream, I love Logitech and I have so many of their keyboards. I'm gonna wait. Just bought a new G700 today!
Link me to that please?

Post in it and we'll all talk back and forth to make it more active.
Am I the only one that spent a lot of money on my computer so I wouldn't need to worry about checking temps/fps.
I got over the overclocking/statistic nut phase aaages ago.
I do moderate overclocks, not enough for me to want to check temps 24/7 but enough to get a nice result with stable temps.
You're not. But I do keep tabs on all that stuff, not because I'm worried my system can't do something, but when I'm in a game as I'm testing out stuff for recordings, I like to know how much GPU headroom I have before a framedrop during recordings. if I'm recording at 60fps for something and see I'm at 70-75% usage between GPU's, I'll know that I'm safe, but if I'm hitting 90% I know that any moment I could drop and lose sync with my work.
It's not so much that I am worried, but it gives me more convenient access to system information.
Enjoying typing on it so far, but I'm not a very good touch typist averaging 45 WPM. Any enjoyable games or programs to help besides Typing of the Dead?
my S key got really wobbly lately, any idea how to fix?
What kind of switch?
Cherry blue, I have a plate mounted board so I had to desolder it to open it, the stem was broke. :( So I'm switching it with pause break, but I'm still wanting another key, if anyone has one for sale I'll buy it.
Edited:
I see that they're on sale on some sites for cheap. I'll just order like two.
I tried using my Model M for gaming but it cancels the commands when I press two keys down at that same time. Example: If I move forward and I want to jump while moving forward I press the spacebar. Once I press the spacebar I stop moving after jumping. I feel like having two buttons down at the same time cancels both of the commands. Its kinda weird and has made gaming with my Model M impossible. I was wondering if it is a hardware issue which means its broken, or that it is a known issue with the keyboard.
Either buy them wholesale from a component distributor or get a couple from WASD.
Obviously if you get them wholesale set up selling thread on Geekhack/Deskthority.
Edited:
iirc Model M's don't have NKRO or anywhere close.
My model M certainly doesn't do that, yours is probably broken.
Just deep-cleaned my das mx brown keyboard, soooo worth the 1 1/2 hours.
I'm thinking about modding my Das keyboard to have white LED cherry switches with some laser etched key caps for the light to shine through. It's going to take alto of tedious work getting each and ever switch out.
The weird thing is that it still types PERFECTLY...probably the best keyboard ive ever used. Ill have to see if I could fix it.
woah woah, what's this?
