I loved this Model M I got for free from school, I felt like holding a funeral for it when I spilled coffee and ruined like five keys.

It was way too loud, though. Probably gonna get a cheap-ish ($50?) Cherry MX one when I have the money and find a place that sells them.

You can't get any Cherry MX boards for under about $60-70.

Any chance of finding a good brown or clear one for that price, then?

You can't get new boards for that price, unless you want to go on eBay/get a used one.

    -nvm this part you can't-

You can really only get an AT101W or something for that price, considering that you'll probably need to import it from America. The AT101W uses Black ALPS I think.

Or for 60 to 70 you could try and get a Cherry G80-3000 with Blues or Browns. Should be doable.

My cousins are not good to their computer hardware. One of them tightly coils and uncoils when he uses headphones. I cringed.

I roll my earphones around my finger gently and put them in a carry pouch. I used to be rough with them but I'd go through headphones so quicky...

I know, right? When at school I have to use these crappy HP keyboards..they're so squishy and euugh..
I wish I could just carry my Model M with me at all times. Though, the thing's a BIT too loud, I'd probably piss off everyone in any nearby classroom during study hall
Strangely enough I have no issue with my laptop's keyboard.

I think it's down to actuation force and how the keyboard reacts when actuated

My fingers feel so tired after typing on this rubberdome after awhile :/

Hello again, I just wanted to thank everyone who helped me. I got a K90 about a week ago and, while it took some getting used to, I love it. It's definitely a step up from my old keyboard in every way. So, thanks again.

I am thinking about buying a Classic IBM Style keyboard from Unicomp. How are they compared to the originals and are they reliable? I dont wanna put $100 on something just to have it fall apart.

The original IBM Model M is much better than unicomp counter part.

PM me if you are interested in purchasing one

My friend just needed to print something out on my computer, typed two words on my Das, and the look on his face just went to a "Oh my god, this is godlike." Proceeded to type a lot of nothing just for the sake of feeling how awesome it was.

It's possibly the cheapest new mechanical you'll get in Argentina considering how expensive everything is for you guys.

I'm trying to get my old Model M back into working order. The first problem I have with it isss, I lost the detachable PS2 cable.

Looking for a guide for the wiring, I have this old PS2 extension cable that should work if the cable didn't have any electronics in it.

Tried out using warm water and laundry powder to clean my keycaps, results were fucking amazing and anyone who needs to clean small plastic parts should use that.
Found a pinout for the keyboard, now all I need to do is find a PS/2 cable and test it.

Because they buy other people's products, rebrand them, up the price by 50-100% and market them to "Hardk0r3 G4m3rz"

The actual products are pretty good, from what i've heard of.

pretty sure razer doesn't do that

every single product razer makes is awful besides the deathadder, the blackwidow is overpriced poop

    Edited:

and it's overpriced poop because you can get an infinitely better keyboard for cheaper or slightly more cash

There's this weird belkin numpad thing that they bought and rebranded and doubled the price, if I dig a little more I'll find more examples.

I know my Lachesis is overpriced as hell, doesn't stop me from loving it. Mostly because it's ambidextrous, I use it lefty unless I'm gaming. Works better on my desk that way.

Belkin n52te, I bought it for 50 bucks, then Razer bought it called it the Nostromo and sold it for like 100 bucks. Razer are cunts and I hate them.

SteelSeries and Logitech mice supremacy, but with keyboards Logitech is shit and SteelSeries is pretty cheap with their pad printing.

I don't see how the Blackwidow is overpriced since in Sweden it's one of the the cheapest mechanical keyboards. The Ultimate one though, is overpriced.
