What seems to be the issue? Breaking traction? Falling? If you can't break traction you need to commit your hips into it. Also make sure your wheels don't have a mold release on them still as in just spankin new and are still grippy as fuck.

The wheels are brand spanking new but i sometimes only get like 10-25 degrees then i just go back into normal riding and sometimes when i do get it 90 degrees i just get thrown over the top ( i guess i need to sit back more? )
Thinking about buying the landyatchz switchblade, looks pretty bad ass. Also going to maybe buy the orangatang inheat wheels.
Holy shit this is a fucking longboard video. These videos of people doing heelside standies constantly for 4 minutes is getting really old really fast.

Any suggestions for a decent dancer with kicks, its really hard finding something decent for a good price here in the UK.
AmWood 1/2 dance, Earthwing Hightailer, LBL OSD, XVD Dancr, one of Drang's many dancers, Legendary Platypus... Almost every small builder makes a dancer because few big companies do, look around.
The Boombox is an insane deck, man. I picked up its companion deck, the EQ, and had the chance to ride it. This video just proves what skilled riders can do with a good deck.
The hype for RAD wheels is ridiculous, but justified it seems.
Gotta get a set.
Gotta go fast.
Although I would love a dancer, something more than 42 inches long is nowhere near practical for my needs. For that reason, I've got my next deck narrowed down to a Bustin Boombox, Nelson Tempest and Landy Tomahawk. How are the kicks on the Boombox? They seem almost nonexistent, as do the Tomahawk's.
EDIT: As you guys can tell, I'm very indecisive and can't impulse buy haha.
The kicks aren't huge, but they're definitely there, and fun to work with.
woooooo my boards in Quebec! Should be here some time next week.
I decided that, since I love top mounts infinitely more than drop-throughs, that I would top mount my Eel. This is the best decision of my life.
I really want to try the downhill set, if they're faster than my venom cannibals I'll be supremely impressed.

Toeside standups are retardedly hard, so are no-complys, and kickflips
longboarding is hard.

nice socks ;)

One of my most favorite videos
Toesides take a lot of practice but once you get them, its money. Now switch toeside, haha don't even get me started on how hard that is.
I can usually get the full 180 but i always fall of at the last second, i got switch heelsides down, that was hard enough
Edited:
i just ordered a comet shred 35 for fun, also got slide As to go with it
and volantes
can you do toeside standup checks? 180s are p easy in my opinion, checks are the hard part for me.
i wish, i can almost do heelside checks but they are unsteezy and basically just me fishtailing
I learned pressure flips today. Fun shit.
it takes a lot of time, a lot of speed, and a lot of balls and bails. So glad I worked past that stage for my heelside, toeside, and switch heelside checks.
I just got my board buuuuut the bushings are rock hard and I can't even turn so I need new ones I guess. Frustrating.

or maybe I just suck and need to majorly get the hang of it.
OH WAIT. I think one of my trucks is on backwards (I didn't put it together)
So I'm really more into fixed gear bikes, but yesterday I tried my friend's sector 9 cruiser and it was pretty fun. Also been watching a lot of these longboarding pros bombing hills like nothing. Though of course I won't be doing that the first day. Anyways:

Anyone plan on going to the DC jam tomorrow?

Anybody have any shoe recommendations? The ones I have are too stiff to bend into position for a slide. I can pull a very sloppy stinkbug shutdown but that's about it.
one of the trucks was put on so the kingpin was facing in towards the deck instead of away from it. I haven't had a chance to ride it yet cause by the time I figured out what was going on it was dark and I've been at work all day (I just figured it was put together correctly so I didn't even look at the trucks really)

I don't know why my pictures aren't working...
I'm not sure which service you used to host your images but Imigur have blocked linking images from facepunch.com. Use something like http://puush.me/ or another image sharing website.
yeah, one of the trucks was flipped around the other way. I might still have them on backwards though I'm not sure. Just took it out around the block though and it's super fun, not much much different from snowboarding but a hell of a lot more responsive.
I got Adidas Vulcs, Nike 6.0s are popular too. Vans are generally hated, as are Chucks.
little edit i made, had all footage lying around.
Any specific ones? I've got a pair of etnies and Fallens, and they're great shoes, but too stiff to get into position to pull off any decent slides. Especially the wide as balls etnies.
have you tried etnies jamesons? I used to use them for skating.
I like my 6.0 MarVs, whatever the hell their called. Get something with cupped soles because they last longer.
My friend wants a drop through, lightweight dk deck that's on the shorter side. He also would prefer a flat board, no camber or rocker. I told him the Moray would be great, and similar boards are the Rebel, Superfly and Soujourn.

Oh yeah, and my Eel delammed today, got it glued and pressed. Something I haven't heard in a while.
I expect to see anyone in the tristate area at this

That moment when you go past 30 and feel like the best skater ever...
That moment when you have the cleanest toeside predrift at 40. Fuck that was the greatest feeling I'd had in a month, best day ever today.

I think I'm going to buy a madrid calvin staub. Looks like a really fun deck.
