I think there are a few coming up. A lot happen in DC these days.
Age: 15
Height: 5ft. 2in.
Weight: 105 lbs
Style: Mainly commuting, want to learn downhill and sliding.
Topography: Hometown is mainly flat but large hills and straights near me
In DC? You can't mean District of Columbia, can you?
I need to know more.
Yes sir. District of Colombia.

these two should be fun
Edited:
I should be at both of them.
I might be there.
Word up. Competition is always fierce at the DC slide jams, some guys there are amazing at freeride. I'm looking forward mostly to the rock creek picnics and grom race/picnic. I like going fast.
i live in PA bro where you from
this thread is east coast as fuck
I'm still amazed there's such a big longboarding community on FP. Pleasant surprise.
I'm from washington :(
Guys, I need help. Should I leave the surface of my board unpainted then coat it with urethane, or should I spray paint it satin black first?
Than I envy you, what I'd give to be closer to maryhill.
Edited:
As am I, and even more that people here actually freeride and downhill and not just cruise.

I have no idea, I'd go onto the fish and ask some board builders for advice. Personally i'd still give it a nice stain even though it has those scratches.
I would stain it, but I have no choice if I want to ride when my package gets here on thursday.
If I were to stain it, I would have to wait until spring, when it would be above 50F for at least ~10 hours. It still has to be above 50F to spray paint it, but it will dry in 2 hours, and my garage heater can take care of that. The polyurethane can be sprayed and dry in any temperature, so that can be done any time.
So, either:
Wait for spring: Stain + Polyurethane
Wait for a warm day this week: Black spray paint + Polyurethane
Wait for a few free minutes: Bare wood + Polyurethane
I'm feeling satan black. Than sticker the shit out of it.
I shall spray paint it when I get home from school tomorrow, then urethane it tuesday.
where da canadians at
In Canada if memory serves me right.
Just finished applying the second coat of paint.
For awhile I thought loaded was on a serious decline in terms of their videos, although I don't care for their boards. The videos they make always get me stoked to go ride~
kyle chin is back at it again
Edited:
also the new loaded speedboard looks dumb.
Edited:
also 2:14 is a nasty 360
that is some fucking steezy riding
^^[Loaded sucks b-b-because they suck]
anyways...
I had the most ridiculous bail today, luckly i wasnt going over 15 mph, but im going down and then my loyal trust worthy side kick panics seeing me come down, picks up his board and runs right into me, i get faceplanted by a Bhangra~not exactly the best board to get slapped in the face by, but anyways, i was wearing my helment so my face was fine and i landed mostly on grass so i was fine otherwise for my friend, i didnt give enough of a shit to care about his bruises.
~and just to top it all off, i had my go pro, but i didnt turn it on- oh i was so close
-he's also albino a.k.a. "a blind idiot"
my sister says she will pin-stripe my board for me. I think I'm going to keep with the GoPro colors.
Black/Blue/Light Blue/White
Gonna eventually get an HD Hero and make a mount for the Left-Rear corner of the board.
I really need to think of my leathers color scheme for ilovedh in the summer. I almost have enough for a set.
*sarcastic remark*
That's the spirit!
Hey what do you guys suggest for a good downhill board? All I have right now is a shorty board.
How much do you want to spend? Symmetrical? Cut like a shark? Personally all I want right now is to try a sector9 annika from their downhill division. Looks so hot.
Just tore muscle in my left leg the other day when I got the speed wobbles going and tripped, and most likely won't be back riding for a month er so :/
I'm willing to spend $250, and I'd like something big enough to the point where I'm able to hit higher speeds. I like all the tricks and stuff, but I want to focus on high speeds.
That annika looks sick though!
I really need to learn how to get a good slide down. Foot breaking and going in the grass has just been terrible for me.
I can't wait to get my slide gloves, I'm going to have to put some spacers and harder wheels on and get sliding down while the weather is okay.
Foot braking has worked for me every time, but trying to foot brake going down steep hill at ~30mph is not something I'm comfortable with yet.
Complete or just deck?
man i havnt gotten speed wobbles in forever, it mostly just happens when you just start, but once you get multiple slides down and you're confident in yourself, they seem to stop happening- its the rider not the board
earthwing superglider
What's a good deck for cruising/sliding/freestyle?
My Evo is great for cruising and downhill, sometime in the future I want to get a deck with some life.
I need harder wheels for sure.
s9 78a is so grippy.
@Takkun10, im going to a slide jam in march and apparently Chris O'Brian is going, maybe i will get to met him
I've got Seismic Avalon 80a's and these things will NOT let go of the road.
I've got my friend's Landyachtz Zombie Hawgz 88a's and my brother-in-law's old unbranded skateboard wheels, so I'm going to try those if it's nice out tomorrow since my package should arrive tomorrow afternoon.
Looking to try something new too.
It's just hard to expect the grippiness and production of each wheel since each company makes em all different.
