These made my childhood. Sweet times, making weird cities out of Lego with parts from a submarine that divided into like 3 different separate submarines or something and parts from an airport kind of thing, then placing the cars around them and stuff.

Pretty sure that was it because EVERY car on their lineup had some sort of oval thing going on.
Except for the Escort wagon for some reason. They got insanely lazy and just redid the front end....and that's really it. The rear wagon part looks almost identical and kept the square tail-lights and everything.
