Woah! Is that... Gabe?
No, it's my grandpa.
Interesting.
holy SHIT
What's he mean by hardware? His Knives?
What are you talking about, clearly this is santa
I like that look
that rugged bear beard.
He's starting to rock the Santa beard
Seriously, he's got the glasses and everything.
As to the article, I'm rather confused as to what he's saying.
Seems like they might head into the graphics card, processor market. If they have too.
Gabe is Santa, and he's bringing Episode 3 for Christmas!
I've always wondered if hugely popular - metaversal games of the future would require their own specific hardware or operating systems.
Oh man he looks so old now.
gabe looks old
I'll totally buy one of their products!
Where did you get the picture OP?
It's not from the article as far as I can see.
Oh wait I found it. Why not just link to the original article, it puts what he says into much bigger context.
Link to whole interview:

That present hardware (I presume that he means mainly consoles) suck, and that if Valve has to create their own hardware to be happy with it's capabilities, they are going to do it.
That's pretty damn good if you ask me.
If Valve brought in their own console running Steam centered OS, I would consider getting it.
Search 'Gabe Newell Beard' in google. Tons of articles.

How can you be confused, they're thinking of selling computers.
What I like about Valve games is that they don't need a $1000 computer to run smoothly.
A Steam games console would be good though.
Gabe's been playing Skyrim.
Edited:
Look in the top left corner.

Holy fucking shit. Still can't believe it's Gabe.
Gabe is going to turn into Santa.
Uh? That's all Valve related things. They've had that sign for years.
And I'm pretty sure that's Black Mesa.
Everything on that is valve related, isn't skyrim.
Fucking ninjas
Everyone should read the original article on PA report, it's a good interview and a good look at how Valve's doing currently.
Plus I hate blogs that exist to repost news articles written by other sites for the sole purpose of increasing page views.
I'm looking at you Kotaku.
He's not talking about Skyrim.
There's a Half-Life 3 logo in the top left corner.
Am I the only one who thinks that beard is disgusting? It's so patchy and weak looking.
It's probably a PC-hat.
I love the new look- makes him look more wise and cool, like Liam Neeson except twice as hefty.
Oh my
Rated agree because yes you are.
It suits him awesomely.
And it is very poorly photoshopped.
He is on his way to something glorious. If he joins the rank of ZZ Top'esq beards, it will be amazing.
What are you two talking about
He's talking about the Half Life 3 logo.
It's shopped, anyway, though.
1. Its blurriness is off.
2. Other pictures clearly show it being a different logo.
3. Parts of it are floating in mid-air. All of the other ones have some small part connecting them back to the wall so they don't fall out. This one doesn't.
that half life 3 symbol is totally photoshopped
He looks like Teddy Roosevelt
No, it's the full photo, unless they somehow invented CSI level uncropping software.
The half-life 3 logo is probably shopped though.
Seriously if Gabe keeps up being so awesome I'm going to develop a fetish for fat people
