DISCLAIMER: Your WEI score is based off of Microsoft "standards". You could have a great PC but have a low score and vice versa.
Scores range from 1.0 to 7.9
The average score should be 5.9
Your final score is determined by the lowest subscore
Refresh your score whenever you change around any hardware
The refresh assessment will takes a few minutes

I searched and couldn't find any other thread like this so, here goes...

    HOW TO FIND IT

Pretty much everyone's score is going to be 5.9 (unless they have a SSD).

I'm curious, does new hardware that beats everything WEI throws at it go above 7.9, max out at 7.9, or scale everything else in the world down because this stuff is better?

I know its a scale of 1-7.9, but those graphics should really be an 8.0

Also, why is 7.9 the max?

Because microsoft wanted it to be? No discernible reason, it just is, it's quite difficult going from 7.8 to 7.9 and requires quite a bump in performance.

I read some article saying that 7.9 is technically max and no current hardware can go above 7.9

I need to find that article.

If it was a technicality limit, why in Vista would it have been at 5.9 for the max? Or was it based on hardware at that time?

I think it was based on the hardware.

I'm looking for the article still.

I've noticed no matter what the actual drive performance is, almost all 7200RPM drives get the same score. Despite my new one being about 50% faster across the board than my old one.
