Microsoft said, if you have no less than 5.0ghz you won't get 7.9. You also need more than 8 logical processors I believe as well.

I remember someone trying to clock his 3930K to 5.0 to get the 7.9 score, he ended up destroying his CPU.

WinSAT isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. If you run it from CMD it'll give you real statistics as to why you scored what you scored.

He could've scored lower on some sub-tests causing the average rating of his CPU to be lower.

It's actually a quad core because I enabled the cores that aren't suppose to be running.

I actually got 7.4 for it previously but for some reason it went down .1. I'm guessing it only checks 1 GPU.

Nah, it's not "all bullshit". It might not be a good indicator of absolute performance, like a proper benchmarking suite, but it's good for seeing potential bottlenecks.

This is my Acer Aspire 5733Z:

It has crappy Intel HD graphics. For the same price, I could've gotten an AMD/ATI laptop with discrete graphics, but with a really bad processor (I think the processor calibrated at like 4.4, so the stats were basically switched.) I chose the better CPU, since I do a lot of compiling and stuff on this laptop, and I have a desktop for games.

WEI is really useful when you're shopping for laptops, assuming they let you demo them. You can quickly compare things without having to know in your head what the difference is between (for example) a 2GHz i3 and a 2GHz AMD CPU.

Probably. That's why you run a re-scan if you're checking out a laptop at a store.
