I'm still rocking a Core 2 Duo E7400 but I have a good motherboard with a PCI-E 2.1 slot for my HD5770, does anyone have a Quad core CPU they would give/sell to me for cheap?

I have a few G0 Q6600's. Most of them can only do around 3.4ghz with reasonable voltage. I have one hotter running chip but can do 3.8ghz.
The crap scaling ones are 1.325VID and the one that overclocks higher is 1.275VID
Hey uh sorry to hijack but what would you want for one?
Make me an offer.
I'm not good with making offers.
Will 5$ be enough? My shitty E5200 keeps being a shit and underclocks itself by ~50%.
Don't undercut the man. He paid a lot for that thing new.
$8
$8.50
$8.52
Why the fuck is the dollar sign before?
$8.51
I'll trade you a banana for it
I'll trade a banana AND half my sandwich for it
I'll trade my spaceballs lunchbox
It even has the spaceballs flamethrower in!
I'll trade you my virginity!
Wait, I am not sure about this..
What about MY virgini-
oh wait.
Yeah I agree, it doesn't worth anything
Hey, I will sell you my Q9300. I just upgraded to sandy bridge. PM me and we'll work out the details.
Q6600s are like $90 on ebay right now
and ~~ultimate gaming machine powerful beasts!!!~~ are $450 on ebay
does it mean anything? no
I had an e6600. Ran like a champ. Gave it to my brother. He now uses it in his recording studio. I don't have a spare chip to offer the OP, nor am I bidding on any chip for sale. I just wanted to share this useless info, with hopes of making a friend.
The only spare 775 CPU I have is a Pentium 4 520 HT:

I really doubt anyone wants that piece of crap.
It has HyperThreading, so at least it's not a complete loss. Still not a first-pick gaming chip though.
I installed fedora 16 and tried running minecraft on it, and it was pretty badThe stock intel cooler couldn't keep it from operating below thermal meltdown temperatures so I had to strap a 120mm fan on it.
Check CL. I found a few people who had dell and hp towers that are decommisioned because they are too slow and sell for about 50 a pop. They usually come with e6600 or q6600 and a small hard drive.
Just search for the model number before you buy.
the q6600 may not be slacr g0's but are still q6600 for 50.
Psh, that's NOTHING compared to my 3.6GHZ p4 which was nearing 80 on a beefy pentium D heatsink.
This one to be exact
Edited:
That chip sucked 115 watts of power
baw, thought this was for shitty one or two core processors since I have two of those laying around doing nothing useful (which is the same they did when they were in my computer)
If anyone wants them they're a core2duo 1.6ghz E2140 and some random 2.66ghz single core Celeron D.
I've got a QX6850 and I've always thought about upgrading to a more modern line but ehhh
I can still max most games so I might as well save me some dosh.
How much do you want for it?
I really want to see how an extreme chip scales on a nice board.
I know a few people that could use that E2140.
I made the mistake of buying two Pentium Ds in a combo (one was an 830, one an 840) and both had a TDP of 130W. No CPU cooler I had could keep either of them below 90C, so I had to get an Asus V60:
With that massive thing, they barely managed to stay at 60C at idle.
Did you use wax as the thermal paste or something?
No, he used a Pentium D.
Oh, yes that wax probably crystallised
I tried four different thermal compounds
1) The Dell grey teflon stuff (absolute crap)
2) White lithium grease (the defacto generic thermal compound)
3) Cu based thermal compound
4) Arctic Silver
None were able to get the CPU under 90C idle on a stock Intel cooler, or a Mass Cool with a 140mm fan. None were able to get it under 60C idle with the Asus V60. The former two heatsinks would have the machine shut down if any sort of load was applied.
Pentium Ds are really awful processors.
I got a Pentium D 820 for my mom's PC, which runs at 37 degrees idle. It has the old Celeron D heatsink with some crappy paste that I bought off ebay for $1.50 in a 30g tube.
I have a couple of 820s
Those aren't much hotter than a normal p4, they suck 95 watts.
My Pentium D in my laptop gets abnormally hot for topping out at 1.6GHz...
snip
I have a spare P4 HT also, but it is 3GHZ. None of that 2.8 bullshit.
