is that brad pitt and eric bana???
yep they are.
Lizrd/salamander study
5-10 min each, no shading.
demon armor concept.

totally gonna aim for the thighs and abdomen
It's cool but useless revealing armour is such a cliche
yeah, just for fun after the lizard study.
It's useless, haha.
I think I'll cover it up with scales.
Her face doesn't seem quite right for the angle it's at.
Maybe you could try not putting in such pervasive side eyelashes on every
girl? They're just really thick and cover up the eye shape.
Your lines also feel very controlled, perhaps you erased the under sketch
or something but maybe you could benefit from holding the pencil further up
for a time at the start or have more sweeping gestures.
Officially moved to Ireland now, and work starts on Mon :D
Gonna be my first industrial employment, so I'm excited.
freebies from work.
Sweet haul!
Yay Ireland! If you're ever in Belfast in the next few months let me know!
We can hang out or something
I have 10 days off this year still, and I plan to use that time to travel around Europe.
UK is a must visit for me, and I will definitely let you know if I end up in Northern Ireland! :]
your sketchbook is sort of slowly turning into a blog
well, my workstation will come back to me in a week.
I have nothing to do at home right now lol.
I don't even have paper to draw :(
Buy some paper then.
update the sketchbook when you have content?
Edited:
it's not like it will be deleted
I knew I forgot something at the supermarket today, but it was already too late.
I was going to post my my inking the demon armor, but I left my mouse at work...
this is what I got as of yesterday.
but yeah, I guess I'll just ost stuff next week when my workstation is back.
or if I remember to buy paper after work tomorrow.
It's awesome to have a job at havok! You'll probably get some awesome freebies working in the game/3d media industry.
Bought some paper and found my HB mechanical pencil.
However, there is no eraser >.>
Also, there is no scanner, so it's just a photo of the sketch, lol.
took an hour.
Hope she looks familiar xD
I'm no expect, but it looks to me like her eyes aren't symmetrical and her mouth is slightly crooked.
Attempted to fix her eyes, nose, and mouth with a nostril-size eraser.

needs to work on proportions a lot.
do some studies, don't just draw.
Jennifer Love hewitt?
She either has an ape nose or it's being drawn from a different angle. Her face is angled downwards, but the tip of her nose is facing upwards.
Last edit on her crooked chin and eyes...
I'm done with this sketch.
I'm off to sleep

Hey maya, you should put in more midtones. The drawing is a little bit
flat.
If you make the ref black and white it's actually quite a bit darker than that.
More mid tones would really make your highlights and shadows stand out more.
Edited:
Features look good though. The placement is a tiny bit off.
another 1-2 hr session.

teeth look really flat and weird
I think you need to study the landmarks of the face, how to measure how far the landmarks are from eachother and so on, untill you know how to do it from memory.
Look up Andrew Loomis "Figure Drawing For All It's Worth", it is free to dl. Look at the diagrams in it and study that, as well as read what he writes.
It is one thing to be able to copy from a photo an another to being able to draw from mind, and I suspect you want to draw as goof from memory as you do when you are copying faces - if so you got to KNOW how a face works and the structures.
popped the book open and did some figure study from the first chapter

A technical demo reel I put together that showcases my programming work mostly.
They are all tools for digital media.
I remember that jello simulator![]()
What I made for lunch tomorrow.
Terikayi pork & egg with udon.
Decided to make it look nice as I need to make lunchbox everyday.
I think the tomato is a little bit too big...
Should have put some pork on the top too, maybe cover up the tomato a little.
The thing in the middle is just spring onion btw.
I might buy a better looking lunchbox too, like a Japanese, black wooden one.
The mundane, clear plastic box doesn't look so tasty :S
That's a really cool drawing. very realistic.
I really like the lighting in it
Cooking is an art as well, btw.
Not only visual, you also need to get the scene, the texture, the ease of eat, and the taste right.
Basically, four out of your five senses.
I want to appreciate different things as forms of art.
Not strictly to painting and drawings.
Martial art is an art because it appreciates the relationship between one and one's surrounding/oneself.
If the art of scene is perfume/cologne,
Then the art of taste is cuisine.
Yeah but it's an artform you have to taste to judge and appreciate.
You can get a feeling for the textures and taste combinations and you can judge the composition and colours. But how it actually tastes and how the textures works together needs to be felt.
So I think it's kinda useless to post here. Cooking is art, but it's not an art-form. It just makes me go "why?". By all means enjoy making it and appreciate it as art, but I don't see the reason to post it here.
I totally agree.
That is a shame though, we can't really share anything other than audio and visual art over the web,
as sound and light travel in waves that can be stored as electric energy.
It would be cool if we could send scent and taste over places somehow.
Wonder what the equivalent taste for dubstep is like..
