NOTE: The Temporary Set up is what I'm going to buy Now. the Final Set up is going to be the stuff I replace with better stuff after a few months, I'll link to every part so you could further inspect them.
I've been saving up alot of money, a few hundred every month, now I can finally buy my dream computer. Before I buy all of the parts I would like to know if it is a big waste of time and all the parts are incompatible, because I'm computer illiterate and a friend was guiding me, even though I trust him, I want a second opinion from you guys. Don't get an Antec 1200. Antec cases look cool at the beginning but they really lack in features compared to other cases, especially regarding cable management.
If you want a dream build, get a friggin Cooler Master Cosmos II. It's a work of art for gods sake. If you wanna spend a bit less the Cooler Master Storm Trooper is a better alternative to the 1200. But for a $6700 PC I think a Cosmos II should really be in there.
I would get a Noctua NH-D14 for the CPU cooler. It's sort of the standard for high end air cooling.
And I mean. I consider the SSDs and the RAM amount really over the top but if it's a money is no object situation then go for it. I would like to mention that Nvidia Kepler and Intel Ivy Bridge are coming out in two months, and I REAALLY think that if you're going to spend $7000 on a computer you should wait for them to have the best of the best.

Okay, The Case you told me about is most definitely better, but I was sort of thinking Antec because of how many fans it had, but mainly because it has a fucking see through window so I can show it off to all dem muhafuckaz dat got dem shetty pee sees. ya knuh wha i sayin dawg? Anyways, I'll be looking for something similar to that except with a see-through side so I can peak inside whenever. Thanks, and I updated my wishlist to the CPU Cooler Fan you recommended, It's probably going to be much quieter than the one I chose before. I'm also glad my specs aren't incompatible and I got it on the first try. Thanks

You're seriously not going to get the Cosmos II because it doesn't have a window? Uh ok then. I think your best bet is the Corsair 800D but I really think that it would be a mistake not to get it because of some window.

Hey it's not my build, get what you want. I just think that features like the hot swappable HDD bays would couple well with your SSDs. And the front fan control feature is great too. Anyway good luck with your build, it looks good and it should drive those 3 1080p panels really well in games.

Because he can! If I had the money he has, I would buy two Blu-Ray drives just so I could rip two disks at a time from my library, even if I never used the second drive again after that.

While I do agree with you to the most part, but I have about 40-50 Blu-Ray discs and I'm one of those people that's like "OOH, I WANNA WATCH THE DARK KNIGHT BLU RAY. But I don't want to get up and walk all... the... way over to the couch... and turn on the TV... and then turn on my PS3.... then log in... then move through the whole XMB screen till I hit the movies category.. then open the disc and put it into the tray... and then close it... and then press X..... and then wait for it to load.... and then press X again to hit play", When I can easily put it into my PC and watch it while I'm doing other stuff too.
I know it's so stupid to give you that reason, but I have alot of money saved up and I'd like to have a PC that will work and not be obsolete until five years from now. Who knows, maybe the whole Blu-Ray thing will kick off and become a standard. I can be a person that says "HAHAH! I HAD THOSE BEFORE THEY WERE STANDARDS IN PC BUILDS!". Same with the 32GB of RAM. It sounds like its insane now, but in 6-7 years it will be a "low end computer".
ADHD version: I want two of the Blu-Ray slots just because I might need them. Oh and I have enough money saved up (after... many... many months of saving) to buy it all. and as I said in the OP, I wanted a dream computer. I'm probably going to replace the CPU with the new Intel Ivy Bridge thing and as well replace the Motherboard when they both come out as well.

brotip, if you want your rig to last long, then don't blow 7000 bucks right away. You're spending retarded amounts of money on, as you said earlier, components that will be outperformed by far within the span of a few years. One of those gpus will alone run all of the games more then enough, and once it stops managing that, you will have more then enough money to spend it on a gpu that most certainly will outperform it by far. Sure, buy a pricey but great case and cooler, but why two of those 7970ies, why that retardedly overpriced powersupply, an i7 that you'd most likely wont need in comparison to an i5 2500k? Save your money, upgrade once its actually needed, and you will have the opportunity to have a build that lasts for so much longer then what you got now.

Socket 1155 is the normal cpus. 2011 is enthusist. Max 1155 has 4 cores, 2011 has 6.

Look dude, this is overkill. You will see no real life performance boost at all. get 2500k, and a gtx 580, maybe 2 and it will perform better than 95% of any other computers. You will not use 6 cores, the 7970's arn't hugely better. You do not want performace, you want price AND performace. The several thousand dollars you will save are worth it. Also, your all a bunch of stupid arses, two 590's beat two 7970's anyway and is cheaper. In games a 2500k, is also better, no game uses 6 cores, none. 32gb's of ram is useless, 8 is overkill, 16 is future proof, and ram speeds never matter.

What exactly are you planning on using this computer for? Like several others have said, the i5 2500k is the best gaming CPU on the market right now and there's no reason to get anything more expensive. If you're planning on doing a lot of video editing, though, the 2700k's hyperthreading might be worth the extra money. Up to you.

Sure get the Cosmos II, NH-D14 and a Blu ray drive, but the rest of that stuff will get killed in a few years by newer and better hardware.

Except in about 4 years I'll be able to make a better build than your build for about 1/2 the price. You are genuinely better off getting a 580 and a 2600K. Those WILL max every game going. You could record with those too if you get some decent HDD's.
I'm just trying to stop you from wasting several grand and feeling like a complete plonker a few years down the road. That's all any of us have been trying to do.

Right, get a 2500K rather than a 2700K. Get 8GB of RAM rather than 16GB. Also replace that PSU with a TX750M V2 or the like, as that TT thing is hugely overpriced.

Look, OP.
I've built many computers for people who wanted to "go crazy", all the way up to $2600 builts, and all of the computers grew old and slow and eventually the owners regret using so much money when they could've upgraded later on.
Now, I recommend you make a big fat RAID full of fast drives (Google) such as the Spinpoint F3's, just 1TB drives, get like 4 of them.
RAID5 them giving you 3TB of fast storage, oh and an i5-2500k and all the usual medi-core stuff, and then enjoy an average fps of 50 on the highest settings available instead of playing jesus by being a special snowflake, and spent the saved money on some nice android tablet.
I recommend the new NOVO7 Elf with Android 4.0 or whatever the newest version is.

I don't understand what the deal is with Smartphones. PHONES are supposed to CALL people. Thats why they call them PHONES. Your not supposed to play video games on them watch youtube videos on them, all that stuff. If anything I'll go buy a PSVita
before I get banned (?) by going off topic, if I get a PC with an i5 instead of an i9, no matter what you say, the i5 will become obsolete faster. My whole point of getting a computer this insane is so I dont have to fucking update every six months, I want something that will last me a couple of years, more if I'm lucky.
And I'm pretty sure the main reason for things getting slow is the Hard Drive getting fucked up by tons of porno files or some shit, and I don't really do anything but play Minecraft and play Steam games.

It's clear you don't know what you're talking about. Let me break it up for you and tell you what everyone told you again:
An i5 is no different from an i7 in terms of raw gaming performance. All you're paying for is 4 extra threads and hyper-threading technology. From what I'll assume I don't think there's anything you do that would even need those extras. You're better off sticking with the i5 and spending the extra money elsewhere.
You'll save much more money maintaining and upgrading your computer in the future while gaining new features as opposed to spending an unnecessary massive fortune at the start. Making the most expensive computer build doesn't equate to it lasting any longer than a build of more than a fraction of the price. All current technology will eventually be outdated by the newer technology. As it is a well thought out build of today's technology that doesn't cost a fortune will last you more than a few years depending on your needs.
There lots of ways different ways a computer can "slow down". If you're talking about slow system responsiveness and long boot up times times then an SSD will practically eliminate that issue completely. An HDD on the other hand will be much slower in comparison and the amount of fragmentation can affect performance.
Do you actually need everything you're putting into this build? You can spend as much money as you want, but in the end you will regret this decision quickly. This is our warning.

I don't think your kind of understanding me, an i5 is different from an i7 being that the i7 apparently has more threads. So your mistaken there, and try reading what I said before, I'm future proofing. What if a game I really want to play comes out and it uses all threads, and I don't have an i7? I can't play it. As in, i5 will become obsolete before i7 will. THATS WHY I'M GETTING i7! No matter what you say, I'm still going to get it, because it makes sense to me, because I want a PC that wont die off until (if my friend is right) 5-6 years.

Also, why in the fuck would Intel make an i7 if it wasn't needed yet? And why would they make a new one thats about to come out, it's called IVY BRIDGE. So, its sort of like "get the latest in technology because it's the best" No matter how small the differences are, i7 is still better than i5, and no matter how small the differences are, i5 will become obsolete before i7 will.

Dude, a 2500k will not become outdated fast enough for it to matter.
Its an i7 not an i9 and next gen tech mid level tech beats the highest level last gen tech, welcome to the tech world.
Unless you are video rendering an 2500k will last about 5 years.

You want to spend all this money to future proof it, but it would be way more efficient to spend half the money or less and save the rest to updating down the line. You'll get a longer life if you just replace parts as you need them. Right now you're getting something that you won't need half of. Spending 4k initially is going to last longer than spending 2k initially, but over the long run, spreading it out is going to last longer. Even 2 grand is overkill. You won't need to upgrade every 6 months.

Guys, I simply think that the OP doesn't understand what hyper-threading is. Hyper-treading isn't just "Yay, four extra without really increasing the die area!" - that's not what happens. HT can help with a few different, incredibly CPU heavy tasks, but generally you won't see more than a 10% performance gain in programs that actually utilize it. There's not many of those out there - and practically no games take advantage of it. You might say "Well, its pretty new technology, and if developers adopts it everything will run much faster!", but that's not true. HT has been around since the P4, and games developers have yet to do something about it. In 2-3 years, you'll see CPUs performing maybe 2 times as fast as the one you're buying, and probably and the same cost. The GPU will be outdated this year, and in two years, it'll really be nothing but a card that was pretty nice at the time. Just look at the 5870, 4890 or whatever.

I see what your trying to say, but that's what I don't want to have happen. Anyways, I checked the price on the i5 and the price is only 100 bucks less, on newegg. So I don't see a real reason, it won't save me all that much money, so I'll be going with i7, no matter what you dudes say. also sorry for confusing i7 with i9 :P I'm not computer literate. I'm gonna get the i7, mainly because its just like 110 bucks more, which I think isn't that much.
