Also update, Biohazard said he will send me it once he's finished what he's doing right now. Then I'm gonna make a video of the map, hehe...

TCB...Have you ever wondered why we can't have nice things?
This is why.
No map is complete without a snoop-room.

Imagine what'll happen when they release a "Testing Initiative" styled map-creator for Half Life 3...
oh god...
They won't do that.
That wouldn't really work though... For Portal, it's a perfect thing, and it's not a problem. The Portal 2 editor, which a lot of people here seem to hate, would actually be good. The best thing is that it will NOT replace Source SDK at all. Sure, you can make good maps with the in game editor, but the truly excellent maps can only be made with the SDK. It lets people who don't know how to map a way to be introduced to it and allows people to make better "first maps". I'm hoping that the editor has some sort of checklist or something to not allow a map to be published in fullbright or something, like a checklist or something.
It just wouldn't fit.
I personally think the new portal 2 thing is great simply because I can 1: quickly create a map that I can edit further in the SDK and 2: not spend 6 hours scripting a fucking door to open and the correct box spawning. (Exaggeration)
The amount of detail and precision you put into a map makes the final result all the more satisfying. Sure, it may take "6 hours" to do something that this newfangled Portal Editor can do in 6 seconds, but won't you feel better about doing it at the end of the 6 hours? In the 6 seconds, it's meaningless.
Back in my day before we had electricity, you felt good when you came home with firewood to light your house. But after electricity, light lost it's worth.
Now skedaddle, son, and go play outside.
There is nothing wrong with the portal 2 editor, and i really cannot believe there are people claiming it will be the end of mapping. The portal 2 editor is there for people to be able to make levels in a simple way. They won't nessecerely be as detailed as a hammer map, but with quick levels, what is the problem.
There have been plenty of easy to use editors for games, and they weren't ruined because normal people could make maps. Look at the starcraft editor...it was easy to use, and no one complained about having more map choice.
For those worrying about it, give three reasons why having a simple editor like this is so terrible?

I rasterbated all over my wall.
Did valve send you that? Kinda looks like you printed parts off and stuck it on your wall![]()
Rasterbation bro, I printed 12 pieces off and stuck them up.

Everything will go through smoothly if he stops trying to be funny
LOL I made a difference in life
But then there's no point to big titles...
I've been working on this ball race map since 10 this morning, minus a couple hours from other stuff.
So pretty much if this was a full time job it'd be the easiest pay ever.
