Are people scared of Bounty Hunter?
In all four games I've played as him at least one person has abandoned the game each time, the last game a guy on my team have even abandoned the game, and we still won.
Oddly enough all these games also start out really bad, IE other team gets first blood or it's 0-4 before we get a kill.

Not really, a lot of the heroes in a game need to be fed a lot before they get annoying, as BH I can get a couple kills and turn into a death machine.
Track is like throwing thermite on a burning building.

he has a shit early game and is a pain to farm because of slow attack anims, and if they get true sight wards/gem, you're fucked, because all you do is initiate in ganksI know, he can burst people down in a few seconds, he's my favorite hero now.

As long as you are decent at the game his early game is fine, it's just a matter of knowing when to gank, once you get track you can get a kill or two and get the ball rolling.
His attack animations are kinda rough yeah, but that's only a problem for like the first five minutes.
You're doing it wrong if you're trying to initiate as a squishy damage hero, you might as well be sending a support in first, wards/gems are annoying but they're not the end of the world, don't attack huge groups alone and you'll be fine.
