once, to secure kills, but then no more because it's almost useless mid to late game

Its either one of these:
Powerlevel W, works against dumbass squishies, you basically cast it on them twice and you get a kill.
Single level in W, just for the slow so you can catch up to them and spin on their faces.
Or in some extreme cases, none on it, motive to this is that it wastes mana, but the times people did this was when it didn't speed yourself up.

So, I was playing Shadow Shaman the other night, and I was looking at an item build for him on playdota.com (well, it's the only guide available at the moment). And I was wondering what a viable starting item build is (I was figuring 1x Tango, 1x Clarity, Mantle, Circlet, and Courier) for him, as well as if that core build (which says Vyse, BoT and Eul's.) is a correct.

pub build on him almost always goes for aghanims and refresher for maximum overkill but that build sounds far more reasonable lol

Arcane boots + mana pool build on axe, spam w as much as possible. Obtain free kills as their team cannot last hit.
