a zertuk, Sealab, and Imperium faction lets do this.
a zertuk, Sealab, and Imperium faction lets do this.
No pls ;-;
Probably need to message Goose or something once the server relaunches. He'll announce how you can whitelist once the server launches.
I'm fine with large factions, but banning certain people from being in the same faction just doesn't seem right. I'd suggest a limit on the number of people there can be in a faction for the first couple weeks, then the limit is retired so factions can grow infinitely.
Speaking of which...
May I announce that the Iron Legion shall be reforming for Generation VI?
except we didn't go out of our way to attack new players and were one of the only factions that would take new players in and basically spent most of the last two gens sitting around in a hole getting attacked and barely retaliating.
Except the simple fact that because Imperium was the largest faction of the Lost Generation, so any new player would join on sight and be sucked into the amorphous mass of sheer players.
It bites when no one will join because they see a faction that is larger than the others and instantly join them, further unbalancing the server.
That's what Technocrats should be for, cept everyone tears them apart.
when I first joined I was ready to join anyone except nobody would take new members, not even Imperium, until I promised to help them dig a big ass hole after days of looking for a faction. Where were all of these small factions looking for members then?
Besides, we learned our lesson with inviting every random after getting sabotaged over and over.
The Lost Generation is Generation VI. The last generation before everyone moved to SKS' server was Generation VII.
This will be Generation VIII.
yeah but you're a recluse who never lets anyone else in his faction so w/e
Edited:
no this will be Gen I v2
I don't consider the Lost Generation to be considered a numbered generation because it was such a mishmash of nothingness, map resets, and screwing around with Creative mode.
I guess it would be the Lost Generations, then.
Edited:
And now the new generation would be Generation VI.
Sign me up for Iron Legion. I've been sticking with Imperium for way too many gens now.
This is exactly what I'm talking about. Imperium's sheer skill together is enough to ruin the server.
Every time I checked Imperium had 30-something or 40-something players in SKS and Gooses, and other factions like Techocrats had only a few regulars.. most of those players never came back because they felt like Imperium's chief members had already had all the fun without them, and it's no use being with a small faction because Imperium is the best.
To make it work this time, no faction can be more powerful than the others the whole time.
Goose can deal with this and actually make the minecraft pulse-pounding again in a variety of ways, here's just my generic example:
A story about four warring kingdoms searching for an ancient weapon to eradicate all the others, Imperiums MVP's are placed in each of the four kingdoms seperately, and have to fight eachother and actually be afraid of something (because they know eachother and what they are capable of) and there is no superfaction made up of those MVP's dominating the server.
I'd play it.
If the member limit is set to 6, then Imperium I and Imperium II would have 12 of the best members raping the ground for resources, and building massive monuments in a matter of days.
By the time any other faction finds where they are, they will be clad in full enchanted diamond armor and are fully ready to invite every single person who joins the server to thier mystical death castle.
Then that new person, who could be a great, mature player, will feel like Imperium has already built, mined, and had all the fun there is to have on the server, already without him/her, and that person will quit to find another server or try to steal from Imperium before quitting to find another server. That's why Imperium has 40 members who are never online, because they don't come back.
Our population will dwindle and fall in a week, just like it did in SKS.
Dealing with Imperium is the only way to have fun, if my prophecy comes true, I'm quitting because I don't want to be some lonely fuck in a LosDiablos faction with 4 other regulars in an empty server.
This will be a completely new Era. Not even part of the same story (if you can call it that).
TL;DR: Imperium ruins the server, and if we don't deal with how strong they are going to get and how unfun and unpopulated they are going to make the server, then Goose is spending money for nothing.

Goose how dare you break my automerge.
Goose ban Goose.
Big thanks to Dr. Feelgoood, guys. He just donated $50.
I'm ordering the server now. Now will begin the fun of getting it all ready for you guys.
You get back here and ban yourself this instant.
Going with the 40 slot server option. I'm mostly concerned about the memory, so that's why I'm kinda overkilling it with the player count right now.
Edited:
See you guys in the new thread.
ima cri ;3;
Only thing that's been annoying me this patch is the sound lag playing on servers with a higher-than-normal ping.
I know it's because dinnerbone moved everything to being synced server side, but there has to be some kind of fix for that because its so goddamn annoying.
Also new thread
try 21, which was less that gen 1
Edited:
I seriously don't understand you, in the generations I was here we had one war with Zert which we never even got around to fighting back in, we failed to stop Swashies from taking Sealab, we got raided of plenty of loot multiple times... if you were intimidated, you probably shouldn't have been. Power in numbers is barely power. Especially when one of those numbers was Pop. And every time we got raided, those numbers dropped.
uhj i know i hate that sound lag
So what's new? I've been away for a while.
No more Imperium?
Eh, I really loved the players, they were really nice people to play with. I could actually trust them without thinking they're going to rob me blind and throw me out like I always worried about before I joined them.
