Hey everyone, my brother want's to have Mac OS X On his pc, so i found a way with snow leopard 10.6.6i ,
basicly u just have to run it and start up trough the cd, then u will setup things etc and Mac will start , basicly the u have to install it etc etc.
So i was wondering,
My brother has 3 drive's on his computer
B:\ ( partion )
C:\ <windows
D:\ < Empty
If i install Mac OS X on the D:\ drive for example , or the B:\ .. will all the windows data be lost? ( picture's, music , program's ? ) Or will it be un-touched and working ?
Cause if i only install it on the B:\ i dont think it will touch the C:\ drive ( On C:\ window's 7 is installed )
Right?
So basic question : Will any data of the C:\ drive be lost when installing Mac os X On the D:\ drive?
Extra information :
The B:\ = the drive where all back-ups of his system are on.
Please help me out, would be great if got some help :)!

If you install it on a different drive Windows will be untouched, however I'd name the hard drives since Mac OS doesn't use drive letters

Mac OS wants his own drive, so you cant share a disk between windows and Mac OS with diffrent paritions.
Mac OS requires a SATA disk in AHCI mode. Also it requires an Intel branded processor.
I also recommend disconnecting all your harddrives except the one you will install Mac OS on.
Edited:
10.6.6i is an illegal version by the way, so warez..

You can install Mac OS on the same drive with a different partition because I've done it so you don't need to get another drive or disconnect the other ones unless you're really clumsy when formatting. The iPC distro supports some AMD processors but only for Mac OS 10.5

basicly his computer has 3 drives
C:\
D:\
E:\
C:\ < windows OS
D:\ < For backups
E:\ < empty and nothing on it
i renamed the E:\ to "Mac OS"
and if i install it on the E:\ drive
none of the windows stuff will be lost?
Litterly all the photo's and filles will be there?
need to know right now on point of installing :).
it now shows a error sign above the apple logo
my steps so far
Download the 10.6.6 I hazard version
>burn on cd
>make bios settings CD boot first
>Start up with cd
>load chameleonbootloader
>After sometime apple shows up
>error sign

Does it have an intel processor and have you set the hard drive to AHCI in the BIOS?

10.6.6i only works on AMD through VMWare.

Okai, now going to use "Snow_Leopard_10.6.1-10.6.2_SSE2_SSE3_Intel_AMD_by_Hazard.iso"
And if that doesnt work
"Niresh12495-Lion.iso"
will keep updated.
Edited:
