The computer should not be reduced to the speed of a 8086 after you take it out of the box.

Why does everyone think that you can't play games on laptop?
I have i5 and Nvidia GT555m and I can play all games fine on 1680x1050 res. Big part of them are even maxed out.

Specs are different and most of the people that say this are saying it because you can't have the same hardware you'd have in a desktop in the laptop and don't want to move down to play mobile, or they're dumb-asses who think it's going to work magically like on a console. The majority on Facepunch are the former.
Funny example of this is my friend has a laptop that's four years old and it was low end then with it's amazing 1 GB of RAM and 250 GB Hard Drive, thought he'd be able to play Crysis on it. He couldn't play it the end and he raged about how the Xbox is sooooo much better and graphics are much better.

Your initial point was dumb, stick to facts. The cooling on Macs is less than stellar, the windows drivers aren't brilliant and the hardware usually isn't that powerful.
Those are the only 3 reasons I need to not buy from them, the shittyness of Apple as a company, the quality of its OS, and its 'usefulness' is entirely opinion.

You do realize that what he said was my point wasnt my point right? when he intitially posted saying hurr theres some idiot who PM'd him saying macs are always bad hurr, he was lying, which is why i felt the need to clarify. There are still good reasons to buy macs, if the different OS is worth it to you for example and it would just be too much effort to change over. Hell, maybe you just have code youve written that only runs on macs or bought software and its worth it not to change. These are all valid reasons. Higher "quality" and "macs are always better for professionals" are not included in them though. Hell, even due to the nature of laptops (you arent going to need games because it couldnt run them anyway, he said you wouldnt need to play games on a desktop though) and the lack of decent custom built laptops it can often mean better.
There are reasons to get PCs even if you just prefer macs outright, despite what he said.

Does anyone here actually agree with the idea that you are never allowed recommend a windows PC if someone prefers a mac? Its essentially the exact same thing as saying that if someone preferred a pc with windows as their last computer its against the rules to recommend them a mac for whatever reason. Hell, is recomending linux for certain things the same?
The entire argument is basically him trying to prove that macs are superior on every count and in every aspect, even price.
My arguments aren't the issue here, its your piss poor comprehension. If people yell at me thats their own prerogative, it will make them look like a moron to those who can read. There's no apologies even needed here though, though i feel insulted i'd be asked to apologize for saying the same stuff i used to say and be agreed with when this thread used to be good back in the days of old, before general chat took it over.

A regular moderator would have the ability to override the OP's decisions.
So in case we get another Linux who ignores what we all agreed on for an OP and posts some crock of shit, we could get someone to put up whoever we agreed to have mod.

If you went into a thread in the Apple section OR ANYOTHER PLACE where someone said "I want/need a Macbook Pro. I prefer them over a Windows machine." or anything similar AND STILL RECOMMENDED A WINDOWS MACHINE, then you're dumb.
