Also I took fridays off from work.
Also I took fridays off from work.
I've always taken fridays off
That 3 day weekend is SO fucking nice.
I hate Microsoft Office so much right now. We're doing these stupid MLA formatted research papers for no reason other than to practice them.
Today i need to make a Beginners Guide to Ubuntu
Oh joy
Begin with the compiling part.
Oh wait.
To install Ubuntu, You must first create your motherboard from scratch
I had to do something similar. The first part of my slideshow was the slides that play during the install process.![]()
I'm weird, I always get a kick out of compiling the kernel myself.
Arch, for example. It always seems to be on the latest kernel.Fresh install and Up to date? Lol compile anyway.
I'll say it again, I'm weird.
I don't think I've ever compiled anything on Linux.
Oh yes you are
But since i should do it for beginners, Compiling might come at some later point
I used to compile most stuff but then I got sick of Python dependencies.
That reminds me I promised to set you up an account on my VPS for your school shit. We should finish that. Get on facebook.
Kinda off-topic, but I just bought a root beer brewing kit.
Should be here Saturday, and the best part is it's actually a very light beer (like 1% alcohol) with root beer flavoring.
Does sipwicket want me to document the process?
I'm in school.
And I won't be able to access it in school![]()
Woot.com
That's where I learned of it but Amazon has it for the same price + prime. (amazon owns Woot)
I threw in some random set of CDs for $3 and got 5 CDs and the kit + refill for $27 w/ free 2 day shipping.
Hmmm, I wonder if you actually could get an older Linux kernel running on one of these...

Edited:
It has no X86 dependencies, right?
Not a chance in hell. How do you think I'm running RHEL on my Itanium. IA64 (which is not x86), don't forget SPARC and ARM support.
I actually have a half finished Z80 at my desk. I'll finish it one day.
Edited:
No fun.
CP/M it is then!
Are these people retarded?

Maybe these people live on 20 dollars a month and eletricity is expensive or something. Down here it's 11 cents per kw. Meaning my computer is about 10 bucks per month at idle, maybe 13-14 if I game a ton in BF3 where I'm using 650watts.
I switch my PC off on a night, merely because I have nothing that needs to continue running.
I leave it on if I have a download that needs completing, though.
I envy that. I used $200 on my server leaving it on 24/7 for a month, power prices here are fucking awful.
Uh, more like 50 bucks if you game a ton using 650W.
Where the fuck do you live?
By the way, here it's 0.3$/kWh
I can't leave my computer on, the fan slowly spinning starts to get annoying after a while for me.
But on days it is pretty much always on. From pmuch 12-24 it is on. And I hibernate so I can simply get all my stuff up easily.
I calculated that by considering that his computer uses 400W and he leaves it on 24/7.
What? He said ~100W idle. ~650W is while he is gaming.
Arch is usually 2 or 3 revisions behind bro
He didn't mention the accurate power consumption while being idle in his post.
Unless you're getting your kernel out of aur in which case it seems to always be ahead of mainline
I though that you might read the thread he linked.

Also, what do you think about this battery?
Fake or not? http://www.ebay.com/itm/12Cell-Batte...ht_1598wt_1410
Edited:
I am looking for the most capacity I can get.

This looks a bit more smelly, but I really don't have any experience buying batteries for laptops.
I always Netstall and it always seems to give me the latest.
Anybody wants to come and play some HL1 in some completely random server and kill all the completely random non-english talking people who do not know the basics of Spray and Pray?
Maybe it's just recently, I haven't used arch since 2.6.35
Might be that linux is constantly more up-to-date than kernel26 used to be.
Sure, why not.
The last time I tried to update my VPS it broke it and it took me about 5 reinstalls to get everything working again, because a specific version of glibc broke pacman continuously. Granted, 2 of those reinstalls were me forgetting to blacklist the package, but still. I'm not going to attempt an update any time soon.Code:horsedrowner@Eve ~ $ uname -r 2.6.18-274.18.1.el5.028stab098.1![]()
