Man, saw a T30 ammo rack and insta kill an IS-3 at full hp. Quite impressive.
Granted it's partly dice roll, still awesome to see.

Now all they need to add is a tier 4 premium arty with a revolver that fires a 122mm round with a splash radius of +- 40 meters that does only 500 damage per shot, but has a 90% chance to destroy your ammo rack.

I don't think T6's should get into T10 matches either, but they're just as out of place there as the Kv-5 is.

People will buy a tier 8 premium for $50... FIFTY DOLLARS FOR ONE TANK. It's probably like $.50 of content. I don't think I've seen people willingly be scammed more in my entire life.

Well, it might not be a T-44, but there was actually a KV-1S that was built to accept a 152mm without the massive turret as well.

KV-5 already can't penetrate most of the t9s not to mention t10s.
You are forgetting that although VK3601 gets into t10 matches it ALSO gets into tier 6 and tier 7 ones, while KV-5 gets only into tier 8 and 9 ones.

If you consider how much time can a tier 8 prem save and that time is money, I wouldn't call it scam at all.
If you once take the fact the person would need to grind the credits another way if they didn't have the premium, you can almost call it an investment.
Some people make $50 a hour, while they get home and play tnaks. If having a tank which makes them ~50k credits on average match, and they need to grind a million credits, their investment returns to them in like five hours of gameplay.

Arguably you could say that as long as you are playing the game at all you are getting your moneys worth.
I hope that comforts the <45% win ratio KV-5 drivers I've had to deal with recently.

That's how I justify giving Wargayming money even though they make questionable design decisions. I gave them $15 for a month of premium and some free XP gold, and I've played ~20 hours of the game and it's only been 10 days. Good price considering I'm having (mostly) fun.

Knowing the fact that the average EU winrate of KV-5 is 44.65 % and mine winrate on it is 51% makes me feel good.

How is facing 5 tier 9s which you can't penetrate frontally at all while they can penetrate your "good" armor from anywhere favorable?

Statistically the KV-5 has a better chances of getting favorable matches than any T5 or T6 tank.
It's much more likely to fight VK3601's as a KV-5 than it is to fight IS-8s.

KV-5 is horribly vulnerable to arty and all tier 9s, and everyone ever shoots at it even though it often poses little threat, just because they realize "OH I KNOW WHERE THE WEAK SPOT IS, I AM SO CLEVER".
Over and over you get picked over Lorraines and AMX100s and die after few seconds.
The only thing KV-5 is really good at is leading flanks and breaking through weak lines, for example when a stray T34 or IS-3 wants to push through a side line, away from the main struggle. Then you just crush him and fill him with shells. If you are in tier 9 match, tho, you are often completely useless.

I'd call the KV-5 unbalanced but not overpowered. It's pretty garbage in high tier games and an absolute monster in low tier games. I have no idea how to explain the criminally low matchmaking.

KV-5 is one of the most annoying tanks to fight in my IS because I can't even pen it's sides at 90 degrees. It's even impervious to flanking when the highest tier.
