Morphling has a lot also, but most of his are pretty clever.
I think it's because he is quite horrible at the beginning. Even by carry standards.
But once you have enough mana, you can just screw everybody up with your ultimate, passive and other abilities.

If you have a baby sitter, support, or just take mid, you'll probably do a fine job.
I don't think he does that much damage early to mid (Excluding spells) and his carry ability is pretty low. He's an amazing ganker though

Why is MoM in his recommended items though? The other 2 life-steal options (Vlads or HoTD) are better on him.
For that matter, why isn't Drum core on him?
The recommended items aren't very good. See: Lone Druid.
So best build is somethign like Phase Boots, Drum, Necrobook, Cuirass, Ahginim's, Vlads/HoTD?
Treads or Arcane are better for Beastmaster than Phase.
Shadow Shaman's recommended items are pretty terrible too

Just to let you know, Basher+MoM Beastmaster is terrorizing.
Suggesting him right now.
But Basher can't proc more then once per 1.7 seconds
So all MoM does is make the one proc you'll get a little more reliable.
Note that Beast has just a bit over average attack damage than usual, and basher gives damage too.
And that his aura benefits him greatly too, he attacks like 2-3 times per second.
Which is why MoM isn't needed, his attack speed is fantastic already. You don't gain much boosting it to max.

Not really, unless you're facing people a lot worse than you, MoM isn't really a good item for any hero. Thats why higher skilled FV users don't get it.
