yes and i have never succeed with these "recommended" items.
alch is probably the best armlet carrier in the game, it synerigies with his ulti greatly.
he also has pretty low srt gain so its espesially good early game.
most of the recomended items however either expensive or doesnt add much needed str/damage except of basher.
i still think armlett is the best first core item for alchemist.

once you get all your basics and then radiance and mjolnir it's somewhat gg for your team if you know how to play

I like to get Phase for speed + unit walking + damage against towers. Though this usually means I need to get later on Hyperstone.
Threads give boots+attack speed in one slot, so I guess thats why people go threads (also, recommended)

Btw. Does Bear drop Rapier if it dies ? I know it's probably a waste, but Rapier is non-stat item with pure damage and bear could use it against towers and such. I gotta test this.
*Tested, he drops it, but you can always re-cast bear before it dies and save the rapier. Still, risky.

these are luxury items. your team sure will be glad to see you constanly farming for 30 minutes.

If you are the carry you usually just farm your butt off all early game. You should only leave your farm if you have a 100% sure kill.
There are some carries that can leave their farm to help in teamfights early because they have abilities that are useful(Faceless Void, Spectre) but some ammount to nothing early game and thats why you need to farm so you can make a difference. Your team shouldnt be angry at you for farming as a carry, if they do, they suck.

How to not play terribly as alchemist-
Farm. FarmFarmFarm. You are the best farmer in the game, so fucking farm.
That's the reason pubs are terrible at him. Most of them stop farming after the laning phase and just try to get XP/Gold from kills.

Sniper is a really bad carry.

Hes not the best but hes good, his range makes him very hard to deal for supports(You die before u reach him if he has a couple nice items).
He doesnt get picked in professional games because he doesnt have an escape mekanism, and if you are going for a glass cannon you might as well go for OD.

You could say same about Shadow Fiend, but he has his farm mechanism, thus he does sometimes get picked.
I think all sniper needs is a slight buff so his early game doesn't hurt as much until he gets 4 in range.
He is a carry that can stay on the other side of the river and still fight enemies on the opposite side, not to mention "you die" ultimate.
Ministun, great for any sort of channeling heroes, etc.
He might be picked more often when Magnataur gets ported (he can cast buff that gives hero a cleave), so that he can AoE farm waves very quickly.

But Magnataurs Empower doesnt work on rangeds! The thing you will see is Magnataur with Sven/Kunkka teamraping everyone with extra cleave, or at least, thats what ill be doing when hes released.

I don't think I've seen a sven played as a carry. He's slow as fuck and I like to play him more as a roaming ganker to a semicarry/support late game. Overall his abilities are wasted if you spend half the game trying to farm to a carry role.

Allright, didn't know that. Thought for a moment that Battle Fury worked for ranged too.
Well, no AoE farm means all Sniper needs is a good babysitter. Chen in nearby jungle, Vengeful Spirit, etc.
Sniper has all the tools to be a good carry, he just needs proper enviroment and team to create it.

There is some carry potential, but the problem is he needs to gank so that his stun is in constant use and in order for Cleave to farm well he needs items. I guess teams just don't feel like letting him carry.
I honestly think that BKB + Daed on Sven is scarier than the same stuff on, I don't know, Drow Ranger ?

So any of you gotten any drops yet?
Me and Scrake got 2 head slot drops simultaneously.
I could view the backpack, loadouts etc for a while but now theyre gone again.
Also steam inventory is borked.

Maybe I haven't really seen a carry sven's DPS potential but with drows attack speed + the 300-400 damage she dishes out at max level can probably shoot 2 or 3 arrows compared to 1 hit by sven.

Sven carry is pretty doable, it requires a proper team thought. I been in teams of Enigma, Dark Seer, Dazzle and Sven where vacuum + black hole + weave initiation leaves space for Sven to just use all his strenght into cleaving the crushed enemy heroes into pulp.
Magnataur is even better as a Sven carry initiator for the fact he does both things with his ultimate, Reverse Polarity(vacuum + huge stun) AND because he increases Sven's attack and cleave by 45%. Its something seen alot in DOTA 1, because its super effective if the initiation is done properly.
Sven carry is not really seen much in pubs because it requires team effort and that is something pubs lack unless you are queueing with alot of friends.

The problem of Sven is not the teamfight potencial but the ganking/soloing part. Thats when he suffers because he has really low mobility. Where Drow/viper can slow people to a crawl, Anti-mage, Phantom assassin, riki and void can jump on people who are fleeing, sven can only stun and run towards them, which is not much to be honest.

The trick to ganking with Sven is to charge in with your R/E, THEN stun.
If you initiate with your stun, it's just costing you hits that you could land if you start with a few whacks.

I've been trying to play Kunkka and been fairly successful at him, but what is the best thing to build?
I've tried assault Cuirass, Battle-fury, Heart, everything but Daedalus.
I guess most effective way to play him is too stack on the damage, because tidebringer only procs every so often so Attack Speed is kinda a waste.

My old Sven video when I farmed up my items, no one could harm me after I had Armlet and Black King Bar.

Maaaybe, but that's a long shot. Maybe they could add effect like (flame suit on) Graves from League has ? His ultimate ability is skill shot that after hitting initial target does damage to all targets behind the initial target in a cone. Simple, Sniper's ultimate would work great in teamfights with Agha.
I got the idea from Sniper's projective being so "explosive".

Oh god. Had an early abandon on my team, they had a brbrbrbr huehuehue so I thought: "Nah I'm not disconnecting, I'm seeing this through." I managed to hold 1v5 as Witch Doctor and hold the match out for 24mins

Just had a 4v5 and won. I was playing as Dazzle and kept everyone alive in every team fight, team was thanking me all game and called me MVP by the end. :D

Is anyone else finding items? Last game when it ended it said I found an unknown item.

Well thats because you where left to farm solo and the enemy team probably sucked(which shows why you were left to farm solo). But if you put Sven vs a Full farmed Anti-mage or a fully farmed Void he will lose and will be outcarried. And if the enemy team is worth a damn Sven will be ganked so he doesnt reach his potencial(Which is harder to do against a carry with a good escape mechanism which Sven lacks). Also he will be counter-picked(Beastmaster shits on his BKB, his boar makes his warcry be worthless)(Faceless void with backtrack and butterfly makes Svens life a living hell unless he goes for MKB and that slows his core items which are also cheaper for a Void).
I'm not saying hes a bad carry, he IS a hard carry, but he depends on a good team(or a really shitty enemy team). You can carry or help more with other carries than on him.
Again, I say, its doable and its fun when you pull it off, but hes easily countered if the enemy knows his shit.
