Would anyone be able to point me in the right sort of direction on how to recreate something like this in 3ds Max:

Its the diagonal segment I'm trying to recreate, as i already understand some basic aspects of modelling but cannot seem to find out how to do the diagonal slats. Thanks.

Iv followed your advice and this what iv come up with, i believe I'm along the right tracks, but I'm just wondering what do with the overlapping sections?

I'd add an edge loop so you can make it fit properly within the corners.

Would you be able to go into more detail or point me in the direction of a tutorial as edge looping the top part does nothing. Thanks.
