i was there!
was one of the last living CTs, one of the deltas. came in last, popped a couple guys while i was on the catwalk. the us army guy running behind the 1st, thats me!!~1
was on the roof with my squad, originally the delta force guys / us army were gonna do a little bird insertion on the roof BUT: it only held 1 pilot + 5 passengers, and it got shot down but landed fine. so our squad regrouped and we went up on the roof. was like a fucking movie, we entered the compound to see all these multi-national SF guys positioned around and here came our squad just walking up and climbing on to the roof. soon as we got up there everyone tried to peek in through the 4 sun window things and half our squad got shot up. then the squad leader died and everyone else so it was only me and another dude, we climbed down a ladder well on the side and went across the catwalk and we both shot about 3 terrorists hiding in corners. was weird because before we went in those spetsnaz guys went in first with a full squad of them and they all got shot up except a few.
the guys on the littlebird weren't very effective either because they were firing their MP5s off the sides from like 300 meters away while flying, through those windows

How do you get into Shaktac is it a strict process or is it just a random "join game on time but dont be a dick" type thing

dslyecxi was my squad leader for this one actually, he died on the roof
joining shacktac is easy, just follow the shit on their site and tell them about yourself and why you want to join

Oh wow this makes me want to get arma 2 now, even though I ripped on it when the demo came out a while ago for being so complex and unoptimized. Steam needs a sale on it.

Theres a somewhat strict process. After going through the initial stuff and a lot of heavy reading you are a probational dude.

Completely un-complex. Same shooter controls as every shooter ever and vehicles are piss easy, all use WASD.

But I remember there was a shitload of keybinds and figuring out what the shit was going on in such a huge battlefield was annoying as hell.

been playing series since OFP:CWC and you will never use about 70% of the keys on there. atleast half of them are redundant and don't actually do anything either.

People really dramatize the application process for ST, my application was basically "Hey I'm PartyHats, I'm just looking for a fun and well structured group that likes to play arma" and I was let in.
In the middle of one of the pFNG sessions right now, this is pretty fun

Yeah I've watched just about ever one of Killroy's ARMAII videos. I have my computer in the shop right now and once I get it back I'll finally be able to play the damn game. Been reading the SharkTac manual and have been getting myself ready to apply.
So fucking excited to start playing.

If its being played on ArmA 2 then you could play it as well since the free version supports custom missions
