    Hey Minecrafters,

I used brohoster in the past, and I can't seem to find any info on this forum about server hosts. Which ones do you use?
Are there any that can have mod tools built in? I want to make a 2000 block by 2000 block map, so is there a bukkit plugin for that sort of map restriction? Thanks.

How fast is your internet speed?
If you just want to mess about with a few friends you may be able to just port-forward and host it yourself.

As for your server, let me put the incoming boxes into English for you, running a Minecraft server isn't a piece of cake, you'll have to read up quite a bit and spend hours playing around with Craftbukkit and the various plugins for it, if you aren't prepared to get into that, then you aren't prepared to run a Minecraft server.

I recommend looking at this before you look at renting a server.

Go with ElpisHost and don't look back: http://elpishost.com

I have a server there for like ages and I can't name a single thing to complain about

    Edited:

And use WorldBorder to limit your map, it's a bukkit plugin

I'm sorry, even for $7/month I'm not going to risk potential chargebacks and issues with our PayPal account.

    This doesn't even work.

It tells me I can only run myself and 1 other person where I have had 5 people playing at once with 0 lag.

Very reasonable and the Customer Support is amazing, you can a reply very fast and they even offer help with some plugins or troubleshooting. And they run their own Control Panel which means their prices are cheaper than some.

Even if the performance blows donkey balls, give it a try hosting it yourself, if for nothing else then the experience of doing so.

I know a REALLY good place, and they have good prices for slots (i pay 8 bucks for 6 slots) and they do most of the work, (when there are updates for bukkit, it tells you so.) and you can upload maps, etc.

    Check em out here
