Spawned an enemy just when the screen went black.
Oh the screams.

player collision with the environment is really bugged, especially in dug out areas. Block placement is a little finicky and the camera movement is really hard to stay focused with. This has potential, but it really needs the duct tape taken off and have the parts welded before it goes any further.
When I load it up I get about 3 FPS and all textures are light blue with a slight black haze around them.
It runs better on my laptop at simple than the "fastest" graphics settings. I recommend everybody try out different settings.
The black screen can also be avoided by alt-tabbing out, and alt-tabbing back in again (while in fullscreen). The black screen may come back, and the graphics may glitch out a bit, but you can play the game more by just alt-tabbing through the black screens instead of having to quit and losing all your work on your fort or whatever all the time.
The alpha is really alphaey and they're asking too much for the founders thingy. Great concept and I love the real time character animation. It is so cool getting hit and spinning around.
"We hope to develop it over the next 2-3 years"
Doesn't sound very optimistic, makes me feel like they're going to get bored or something.
Shit, this runs like a powerpoint on here

Better than coming up and saying "We hope to release it next quarter!"
Realistic deadlines are far better.
Same, even on Fastest & lowest resolution it's still as choppy as a Mac
Isn't StarForge F2P? What Is Paid Content?
StarForge is Free To Play. Meaning players can expect a few heroes to always be free and you can play them as much as you want with no limit. As well, all the modes in the game, both Single Player and Multiplayer are free. We are not designing our game to be pay to win, infact, our entire design revolves around the game first. Every Hero is tested and balanced with the other Heroes to ensure that there will be no advantage to buying different Heroes. Just a different way to play the game. Skins are purely cosmetic. Each Hero starts with 6 base Devices, and 6 Base Mutations. These affect your starting stats in the game. The ones you will be able to purchase will not give you an advantage but just the ability to replace the basic ones with more customization choices. Sandbox Items and Packs do not factor into the competitive game.
-Snip- I probably shouldn't get drunk and then post on FP again. Seems like a bad idea.

Stop.
I can load it up perfectly fine in windowed, but it takes forever to load up and "stops responding" before so. Any ways to fix this?
It does that to everybody, you're supposed to just let it load. It'll stop responding, but after 5-10 minutes, it'll start to work and load the terrain.
Trying to run this, but whenever it's done generating the terrain the screen appears normal and slowly fades to black permanently.
From the content in Minecraft now, I'd still call it alpha. Not worth $30, IMO. Good thing I got it in alpha.
looks AMAZING
Holy crap, I can play Crysis 2 on max settings but my PC lags to shit when I play this on FAST.
What is going on
It's an early alpha
Pretty sure they will add something like this atleast, you could already do from wall-to-wall jumping in the version they used to make the videos
I know, but that's confusing as fuck.
I shall no longer get drunk and then post on FP. Lesson learned.
I don't know what to do. I spawn at night in a forest clearing, then random worm and spider enimies spawn on top of me and attack me, doing no damage.
I spawned one of those whirling club things in an attempt to smash myself over the mountain but instead I flew a fair distance, then got teleported in mid-air back over a forest before smashing down.
It's fun to crash around like a ragdoll but is there any way to build a fort or leave the starting area?
Yeah, I get around 30 fps no matter the settings I pick. I could be running it on the lowest settings or the highest and it'd still be the same FPS. It's alpha what can you expect.![]()
30? Boy, I can't run it past 20 fps, even on lowest settings.
Is this guy drunk 24/7 or something.
He's a bit shaken up after the fall from space![]()
They released an update kinda
http://www.forgeplanet.net/starforge_build.php
Nothing terribly important but an update is an update.
StarForge looks good. Just registered, and I'm downloading the 0.1.1 build after bro gets off of Netflix. I'll give it a whirl tomorrow when I've got nothing to do.
Why does it feel like my character is a bag of broken bones held together with spit, tears, and dreams
unity 3.6 isn't out yet
The new update really improves my FPS, I can play with flawless FPS now while before I had just 5 fps.
Hey guys, Sorry to bump the thread but I put together a video.
I want brutal honesty, It's my first real video that's been anything more then just gameplay. I want to know if it's crap, You wont hurt my feelings. The video quality isn't the same as my usual videos cause I had to record it with Livestream procaster instead of my usual MSI Afterburner.
New update released since a bit. Version "b" should be coming too.
Fun fact, one of the small monsters is actualy friendly and won't hurt you, he actualy will start pursuing the giant monsters and attack them, ain't that cute?

I tried this out today. It's literally the worst game I have ever played.
You start out spawning on a gigantic tower of rock, with no way to get down without dying. i ended up having to trudge through the horrible UI just to make block to get to the ground, in the process dying over a dozen times and using over 1500 blocks. THis is all with the shitty movement system that feels like you're yelling commands to a deaf guy covered in bad dragon cum lube. When I finally got to the bottom, I found enemies that literally could not be killed, however hard i tried with the gun I was given. I ended up running away from them and firing, and I found that if you run and shoot forward, your bullets hit your playermodel, damaging you and causing you to go faster, so you hit more of your own bullets and keep getting damaged and accelerating. I eventually found the edge of the "infinite" map. It was literally an edge, like if you'd use noclip in a source game and float out of the map.
I feel your pain bro.
your game is currently a steaming pile of shit.
Edited:
ok,maybe I shouldn't be that harsh, but I cant figure out how to hold a gun, build, destroy,or spawn things,so its basically raping my computer for no good reason. no point in an infinite map when I'm stuck in a pit on a stone pillar
Yep, it's not that bad though but I still find it silly that you have to start in the middle of a rock![]()
You can slam yourself onto the walls while falling to (maybe) survive.
