Cross post from TF2 (as it's also Dota news)
First Valve E3 announcement leaked: Steam and the Source Engine coming to Linux in 2013

    http://www.jeuxvideo.com/news/2012/0...sous-linux.htm

LoL has a linux client, so this means Dota will probably be one of the first, if not the first, source game on Linux.
Don't put that much hope into jeuxvideo.com, it's far to be the most reliable French source at all.

Interesting, Dota 2 seems totally absent from E3. Big Valve showing at E3 is Big Picture Mode and CSGO based, no Dota in sight.

Really surprising, considering the store just went live.

So will there be an update this week, seeing as Valve is at e3?
I suppose they could, and then maybe they'd talk about Dota 2 after the update.

    I don't know really.

Portal 2 got a pretty large bug fix yesterday, so I don't think E3 will slow them down.

It's propably just the guys who are actually there to introduce stuff to people, they're not sending their coders or modellers there just to lick their thumbs.

Uh, okay? What does that have to do with anything? A patch didn't even come out ten minutes after that tweet anyway.

Plus all the weekly patches have bug fixes along with other content sooooooo..

This was only related to the International 2 Qualifiers causing trouble with the servers, we're still getting an update today.

Now please, I'd ask you to leave and never come back.

Wouldn't that cause a fair bit of clutter?

On the other hand, its nice to have a thread to discuss the new stuff.

It's only one per week, the TF2 section is doing it and it works nicely.

once or twice a week shouldn't be too bad. Obviously little "Fixed Courier dancing when buying healing ring as Ursa during night" or whatever as the only note wouldn't be worth a thread, but the weekly patches that add a new hero (and probably cosmetics) has a lot to be discussed.

Patch threads are already a dumb idea, let's not bring it in DotA 2 section too.

I really hope we get more than one hero today but I'm starting to doubt it. Recent blog update "Let's go for a spin!" is a quote from Gyrocopter basically saying he is most likely today's hero. But I would love a 2-3 hero update.

Gyrocopter's confirmed, we'll get Mortred+CK if we're lucky and Valve would release multiple heroes at once again.

It would make more sense if they just posted the update right when the critical bugs forum comes up. Unless he's writing the post as he puts it up.

Yeah, putting the critical bugs forum up early only makes people spam the forums.
