A few months ago I was watching a game that had around 200 spectators. There was a nature's prophet who was obviously intentionally feeding, so many of the spectators reported him. Does that count as abusing the system?
I keep losing easy bot matches and they are lasting forever. I guess I'll try easier.
Making the dota community better is abuse
my friend was in a game where the antimage that let their team down found stumpy the courier. What a lucky guy, I want stumpy.
Stumpy has such weird animations.
Stumpy is literally the only thing I want off the store, until they come out with Tinker/OD items.
No, that's a lot different than this.
Not even remotely. You're being intentionally obtuse simply because you've decided you dislike me for some obscure reason.
I can see you're a lost case, but others, please report the scumbag. Thanks.
i dont even know who you are other than the kid who tries to fit in by talking about cyborgmatt and streams
its different when people see something first hand rather than "hey guys go report this guy get him banned lol"
I agree that they should be reported in this case, but it's explanations like this that make you sound like a dick.
smashman sometimes you come off as being a dick
playing with you is annoying because you have to comment about EVERYTHING
if someone makes a mistake or plays badly you go crazy
but when you make a mistake or fuck up and get called out on it you get defensive and act like you can do no wrong and that you're the best dota player
I think it's a stretch that you're posting on a forum for this even though I've seen a lot worse than just destroying items and text abuse but it's hardly exploiting the system.
You're basically describing a majority of the dota community, which is kind of depressing.
yes smashman is literally the embodiment of the average dota player
Wrong
I'm a better one.
banned just because namaste called you out doesn't mean you have to keep feeling sorry for yourself
I was playing a game where I was Furion and to cut to the funny part, everyone on my team but Tinker and I left. We managed to hold off 2v5 for almost an hour, since we were both lane hopping while pushing back and ganking. We both had sheepsticks, and I ended up with a shivas, desolator and a skadi. Not sure why I didn't go heart but it was fun watching brewmaster be an ass. Their PL couldn't push to save his life and their morphling was actually pretty nice.
Oh yeah and we lost but it was still fun, Tinker wasn't that bad either.
huh, i thought jim french did the voice for omniknight, guess not
I wanna see brian blessed somewhere in the game, he would have made a hilarious omniknight
lol i was watching that game cause i was bored but i got off before it got tense i guess
Still, better than people pausing the game when you're about to destroy their ancient for the sake of pissing you off
i've literally never had that happen so sucks to be you!
I had a team pause once while they were killing ours. Night Stalker made a fucking speech about teamwork and everyone on my team was pissed at him, on top of the fact that we already wanted to kill each other.
this happened to me once
he said
"wait
can't we all just talk this out?"
so we had a nice chat and settled our differences
Is it wrong that I get annoyed that 75% of my school plays LoL, including teachers? And like half of those people say Dota 2 sucks because it's not LoL?
Yes, everyone is entitled to their preferences.
or just do cl_showfps 1 (or 2)
It's just that I feel like people play LoL because they're stupid, not because LoL is a good game or whatever. That probably makes me the stupid one rather I guess, but like I said, a lot of people said Dota 2 is a shitty game because it's not LoL.
Don't get me wrong, I used to play LoL like 24/7 until about a year ago, when I first heard of Dota 2 by the International. I think LoL is an okay game, but not as fun as Dota 2.
Don't let other people's prejudice in gaming effect you that much tbh. I think that if people can enjoy a game, it's probably a good game, even if it's not for everybody.
My problem is that I have 4 friends who play LoL, they're pretty good at it, and they're ALL IN THE DAMN DOTA 2 BETA, but none of them want to play Dota 2 with me because they suck at it. Or they're too lazy to learn. Or they're stuck on the camera controls. And so on.
It's infuriating, because they tell me about their LoL matches all the time, and sometimes I'll play LoL with them, but it kills me to hear about their stories and such and how much they enjoy LoL, and I still can't get any of them to play Dota 2 with me, so I'm like all alone. I mean, don't get me wrong, LoL can be fun, but it's just not as fun as Dota 2 is for me. It's full of tanky DPS champs, while Dota's heroes are just so much more interesting and variant.
It's really hard not to when most of everything I hear is about LoL. I don't know why I didn't get annoyed when people used to talk about Call of Duty, but I'm annoyed as hell now about LoL.
Oh man it's so good to know that someone else feels me. I know like over 250 people that play LoL, and all they talk about is LoL. "OH MAN YOU SUCK AS (insert random champion name here) MAN" "HEY MR. OR MRS. TEACHER, DID YOU GET THAT NEW CHAMPION", etc.
And yeah I do agree that DotA heroes are more diverse and stronger and interesting than LoL champions. A friend of mine once called Dota 2 "Battle of the OP".
Oh my god, I know dude. It's so funny introducing somebody to Dota 2 from LoL because they judge the whole game based on LoL's standards, so to them everything is OP. I tried getting my friend to play, and he kept asking if there was ability power or anything to improve the damage of his abilities, and I was just like:
"NOPE"
And he was a bit sad after that. He plays Brand in LoL so I tried to get him to try Lina, but he just couldn't get into it. I've tried like 5 times to get him into Dota 2, but every time he's just been bored because he gets destroyed and frustrated by the camera and stuff. He's like my best friend too, but it's so frustrating because I can't get him into it. It's like banging my head against a brick wall.
EDIT: Reading the posts below, it's not that I hate LoL at all, it's just that I want to be able to share the awesomeness of Dota with my pals, and I'm failing pretty hard at it.
I've played dota for years and I still play LoL (lately not too much..) and WoG, another AoS (dota-like) wc3 map. I like them all. If people like this or that it's their choice, they have the right to like or dislike what they want. If you don't quite agree with other people's taste then just let them be "happy" with whatever they want.
This might sound like a lesson in tolerance, but you're just going to have to accept that other people are going to like what you dislike. I have friends who play League and it really doesn't bother me, because if they enjoy it then that's good for them.
This has happened to me so many times. A lot of people that I have personally gotten and given invites to ragequit because of how zoomed in the camera is or how this game is so OP, etc.
One of my friends tried Juggernaut and was like: WOW THIS GUY IS A RIPOFF OF GAREN AND MASTER YI. I was like, get out.
My god LoL players.
It's just that a lot of my friends and I normally play games together, but when it comes to this, we are always split.
And you don't have to listen to people talk about it constantly. This happened when Call of Duty was popular also.
