I went through Phantom Lancer's model files, and took some ref pictures of how, erm, broken apart he is.
The body pictures WOULD have his head, but his head does something TERRIBLE when loaded as a weapon.

This makes me realise that someone should give the Silencer the mask from the 'silenced' icon.
A pair of legs can be removed from the overall size if needed, though I just imagine it moving would be shuffling its legs rhythmically along with some bobbing of the segmented body.

Could just rig each leg alternating all the way down to a different bone, then you would have 2 leg bones but still have each one moving properly. ( so long as it doesn't move like an inch worm )
No wonder it made me think about it.
Perhaps, I don't picture it moving like an inch worm, just something sort of with fleeting fleet with a body that bobs up and down with movement from the legs.

Well with this design for Dirge coming in-game soon enough, I wouldn't think the face is too grotesque.
I think it could perhaps use a bit style editing to fit in more perhaps, by editing proportions here and there. vv

I didn't think Maya was a model creation program. I mean it's made by the guys that made 3ds, so why would they make 2 programs to serve the same function?

Guys, stop making *real life* stuff like egyptian stuff and roman stuff. Dota is fantasy, be creative MAKE UP lore if you have to. Just do something original. Try to steer clear of anything that isn't medieval. I'm not saying you shouldn't take inspiration from those kinds of designs. Just don't base your items entirely on them.
...maya and max are owned by the same company. They are both made to do the same job. Modelling, animation etc. The works. They just have different interfaces.
Don't expect everything in the world to make sense.
In the same way that Photoshop is for editing photos. They have evolved to accommodate a wide range of uses.
