All the tf2 servers which are running on the box have SM disabled currently, I've just not got around to updating it to the new snapshot. It isn't an issue currently.

If that is the case, then just give it some time and soon it will be back to good ol' Facepunch.
I know im just one person, but I was very regular on the server, so im not one of those thats neglected FPUK. I just... cant play
simple as that.

Shitty micspams are not "part of FPUK". Yes you are allowed to play things over mic, but that's not a license to spam any old shit. For the most part this isn't a problem, the majority play some good stuff. But some people still don't get it.
1. Goldwave your stuff!
2. I don't mind soundbites but lately people have just been spamming them over and over. The problem with soundbites is others quickly chime in with their soundbites and it becomes a clusterfuck very quickly. So its probably best to just flat out not allow anyone to play them.
3. Don't play over others. This ones a no brainier.
Finally no 'rubbish' tracks. It's pretty hard to define whats good and whats not but some examples of things not to play over micspam would be; bonk songs and similar things, trolololol, anything that's very long.
What seems to go down well with the server is TV themes, general music of whatever genre, soundtracks and the likes. If you're unsure about it then its probably best you don't play it. If you get asked to stop playing something just stop.
Oh and there's a special place in hell reserved for those who play 'go compare'

It's possible to convert things so that they sound pretty good. Even metal.

80% of people don't like metal though. So I'd rather not hear it.
Whenever I hear it played over micspam on other servers it all just blends and slurs together.
Micspam doesn't even sound remotely good. ugh. The only thing I would possibly use it for is sound bits or short theme songs. But sometimes you'll get the idiot who will play an entire album or a 4-6 minute song over the mic...

put it on -10 or something, thats what i always did and it turned out okay but it makes the entire song more quiet. you might want to try experimenting with the presets, which has a 'reduce bass' preset
remember in voice chat it's the bass that makes the song crap!
should look something like this
if you use something else and you dunno what to do, search for 'equalizer' somewhere and look for a way to reduce bass
i dont really play tf2 much anymore so idk but here you go anyway

Stuff from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s goes down nicely with everyone too. As long as it's not heavy metal. Rolling Stones, Hendrix usually Goldwave well, ACDC not so much. Can't point out how well every song will turn out, so use yo initiative.

Possible but hard to do right. You can't batch process it, so it'll sound shit unless you're dedicated to making it sound good.

That's an awful way of using Goldwave, -10 on the equalizer is huge, -2/1 is usually enough depending on the type of music.

Ive heard a few songs on the radio that I recognised from people Spamming and they just remind me of some great and funny times we've all had together
(Thought id lighten the mood with something positive. This mic-spam whining again is just so boring now. Facepunch is and will most likely always be a micspam server, when are people going to get the hint. Dont like it? LEAVE. plain and simple. There's plenty of other servers that dont spam)

When was the last time you actually played TF2? It seems like you've been "moving" for months now. Or maybe that was another person saying they couldn't play.Because of a few micspam songs.

My ping wasnt too bad, its the fact im on a shitty pink vista laptop that seems to be even worse at running games than my 2003 XP model I use at home to play TF2. I mean, at home its bad, but playable, here... holy shit.
I joined, i had to Spec and fly out of the map so i couldnt see players, so my lag dropped.
Ping was aboooouuutt . . . 250? And with this laptop, unplayable.
(Its not mine, when ive got the money, i'll get my own, then maybe be able to come back and play)

I don't actually know where in france it is hosted though, ovh's network is huge and there are 3 nodes in france alone for exit points.
