Of course you still have not defended your claim that cunt was used or is being used in direct opression as opposed to being more of a word that's sitting next to it.

You don't have cunt laws, you don't have people talking about cunts as a social group. When it's used, it's used directly against the person in question. It's is both derisive and offensive. But border between both of them tends to fairly small.

Did Racism and Sexism exist and exist to this day? Yes. But they are both petrated in different ways and have different symbols associated withi t.

Except the line between offense and derision tends to be very slim as far as insults are concerned. A large amount of insults have a derisive base and as result are offensive. To the point where the derisive base has a secondary meaning to the offensive use of the word.

Essentially a good example of a derisive insults is one that uses a noneffensive word in an insulting manner.

In the end, generally both have pejorative implications and it depends on the context they are used in.

If he responded with something like "because you're a fucking woman" then you would have a perfect example of a derisive insult. Though I'd still argue it was not misogynistic in intention.

But if you nab something like cunt, where the offensive charge is generally above the derisive you've got no case. It's not a hate crime.
